Yeah, that interview only confirms what I already expected. Looks ever more likely that I won't be buying ME 3 then. I know many people are unhappy with the direction ME 2 took, and with the direction that obviously ME 3 will take, but I wonder how many will actually make the step to vote with their wallet. I'm realistic enough to know that it won't be many, and that those are considered acceptable losses in comparison to the newly attracted "fans", but that doesn't influence my decision.
I'm not pre-ordering ME3, that's for sure, even if Liara is confirmed as a squad mate. I will wait and see what others say about the handling of her character and romance.

When it comes to Liaras role in it I dont have a good feeling, the way I see it chances are she just gets a new desk to hide under it in case the reaper fleet comes by the random planet they will put her on this time

Absolutely. We like to have this continuity and its payoff, but we also want each game to allow people to enter into the series at that point. If you haven't played either game we still want you to be able to play Mass Effect 3.
= Instant ME3 failure. It's gonna end up having like 2 cameo's for people who played ME1 and 2 that they expect to make us happy, bioware love the community!

What about the Liara DLC or xPac? I think I'll definitely buy that, considering what I hope and think will be included.
Not sure about ME3, though. Liara needs to have a well-written squadmate and romance role.

I might hold off on that (if we will even get it) until I get your seal of approval.

I can't wait for ME3, simply because I want to know what's going to happen with everyone. I love the combat, and ME2 is my favorite of the two. I also what to see how my choices will factor into the final outcome. So I have no complains.
I wouldn't expect anything else from Tali and/or Garrus fans. If Liara had a proper role, I'd still be unhappy about the main story, but it would certainly have increased my appreciation for the game significantly.
That said, if I were a fan of Tali or Garrus, I for one wouldn't exactly be satisfied with their roles in ME 2, not in comparison to how well written and integrated the companions in ME 1 were. On the other hand, in comparison to what then happened to some of them, how they were tossed aside...
Actually, come to think of it, maybe what they did to Liara, Ash and Kaidan is supposed to be a warning to all others: Don't demand too much, or look what might happen. Be satisfied with what we throw your way.
I do wonder if you would still be so enthusiastic about ME 3 if you knew your favourite characters were going to be reduced to a badly written side role. Maybe we'll find out. I wouldn't feel satisfaction, but I don't deny that I would read the inevitable forum posts with some amusement. But I don't doubt that there will be a nice continuation and conclusion for the Tali romance at least. What will happen to Garrus though, is anyone's guess at the moment. I guess his part isn't more certain than Liara's.

I'll still get it even if my wishes are not met, I'll want to finish the trilogy at least even if it makes me mad. However I'm sure it will be better than Mass Effect II was. I hope Liara is LI and squaddie again, but if not I'll just get mad and still finish the game never to touch it again. I really don't think it will be all that bad though! I have high expectations for the game regardless of the poor interviews and ideas that have come about. There is still a great chance for BioWare to do some good with this game, saying this I will remain confident all ends will meet with my Liara expectations and overall game expectations. Hope is the key, even when there isn't any light in the tunnel.

As for ME2 it really was a letdown storywise, established stuff from the first was just thrown out of the window like Shepards spectre status or the whole cypher thing, characters were changed seemingly for the sake of "darkness"(Liara),other characters were reduced to being idiots or not caring about the reaper invasion so Cerberus could shine, the only point were you really were introduced to a darker side the cell was immidealty decleared rogue, since nothing was allowed to tarnish Cerberus halo of heroism, also it made me scratch my head since while Praggia looked like they cloned Mengele and put him in charge there what exactly in there was against Cerberus regulations and also Shepards blandness
Besides that a few little things like scanning which I honestly never do I just cheat ressources now and the fact that people fight in high heels, spandex suits or half naked in the vacuum of space,I dont let the "fits the character" argument count there or the "variety" argument either there were ways to have the characters look suited for combat and still individual
Beyond that I would say the combat was ok

How realistic do you think its looking for Liara dlc at E3 ?
Not sure. I'm not actually aware if it's even common practice to announce DLC at E3. If it's a Liara-centric expansion pack, however, then I think there's a much greater chance.

IDK. It has been mentioned that BW might just focus on TOR...it's not certain they'll show anything ME2 related.

I see, i was thinking that they wouldnt just release DLC just for Liara , it would be cool if they did , but an "expansion" if you will on your current LI in me2 would be interesting.
it would be really awkward to see her and tali interact.

We'll just have to wait and see. I have my hopes and wishes about the Liara content included in this DLC, and if they do come about then I'll be ecstatic.

I know that's unlikely as it measn you'll have to play all three games in order to acquire, and it'd be closed off to new players, but still, I'd like it!
