If you think about it, human females and males aren't all that different in appearance, when compared to a turian, for example.  I don't see them preferring one gender human over the other, really.  We humans treat our own minor sex differences as a big deal, but I doubt the asari would do so.

I do see an individual asari possibly preferring humans to, elcor for example, as humans are closer to them in appearance.  Or, an asari might prefer the elcor b/c they are more 'exotic' than the human.

Yeah, you're right. I just thought that perhaps certain asari may find male humans appealing, as they're like a subtly altered variation of their own species.

Hmm, possible.  I see humans in general as just a subtly altered variation of the asari.

One thing that we know is that it would be more likely for them to be with a human male, as it is more likely that a male would be attracted to an asari than a female human would.

That's the way I see it.  An asari doesn't prefer one human gender to the other from an aesthetic standpoint, but is more likely to be with a human male, given that they are more willing and 'easier' to snag.  Unless they like the challenge of going for the females.

This talk of Asari perhaps liking human males and non-Asari, non-female humans because they're "exotic" might bring up accusations that the Asari are shallow, but who's more shallow, the person one accuses of being shallow, or the person accusing someone of being shallow because they prefer someone other than one's self?

Also, I heard about the Drell being tailor-made to appeal to female gamers.   I  heard that the designers walked around the Bioware offices asking female employees if they found several possible designs for Thane to be hot.

When you think about it Human males and females aren't that different to an Asari (visually) well the females aren't in the shape of there body , so perhaps seeing a male version of what an asari male would look like (if there were such a thing considering there isnt an "female Asari as such" )

Ulp, let me make one thing clear here. When I said that certain asari may like human males or other species because they see them as being "exotic", I only meant on a strictly aesthetic level. Of course an asari would prefer to pair up with the person that she sees as having the best personality, and whom she feels she shares a loving connection with. That's all. I didn't mean to insinuate that the asari are shallow at all.

I think if the asari are 'shallow' it would be on the mental level, the one the care most about.

That's true. It's more likely to see an asari with a human male than a female, as there are a greater amount of heterosexual men than homosexual women.

Haha! I like that.

Liara's intial attraction to Shepard was due to Shep's mind, too. Well, it was initially attraction on a scientific level due to Shepard being exposed to the Prothean beacon, but with nurturing from Shepard via talking to her, it grew to a romantic level.

haha. You right! Anybody else noticed that any relationship of the same gender is often showed in a negative light in ME2.

Kelly f"""" anything that moves.
Morinth is a psuedo-space-sex-vampire.
Nef is dead.
Samara does not wish to have a relationship.

I know, I was just saying that the small side story with Nef and Morinth doesn't exactly paint lesbian relationships in a flattering light.

They don't even allow same sex relationships for the most part, with the exception of Asari since they are considered monogendered(I guess that okay to the developers).

I would have liked to try a romance with Jack.

Opinions vary, but we Jackolytes think that Jack is sexually attracted to both males and females, but only romantically attracted to males.

'Cuz it's 'dark' and 'edgy'!!

ME2 is very socially progressive, yep :?

I don't even want to get into the racism with Jacob's loyalty mission....

The Morinth thing was disgusting in context. The game could really use positive portrayals of same sex romance. I kind of feel bad that I couldn't get the Miranda/Liara story to work.

Well if Jack is even remotely bisexual as is suggested in her script...then I don't think that would exclude her from romance with other females. The only thing blocking it are the game developers.

Her only hang-up is that she doesn't get close to anyone because they might harm her...but she does grow close to Shepard through the game.

Hows Jacob loyalty mission racist? Aside from the fact that his dad is black?

Yep.

We have a lonely and vulnerable heterosexual woman who gives in to her homosexual desires, only for that to then horribly kill her.

We also have a black man turning his ship's crew into his own personal tribe and raping all of the women.

Nice.

I just thought it stunk of the 'pimp' stereotype associated with black males, and the idea that comes with this that they use/abuse women for their own gains.

Why couldn't it have been Miranda's father instead?

I'll still fail to see how Jacob's loyalty mission is racist. The concept of race is never brought up.

Yes Ronald Taylor is black. So what?

"EDIT"

black males, and the idea that comes with this that they use/abuse women

Guess we have difrent opinions then. I just saw it as a man who took control and abused the people under his command.
