Well, besides Liara's eyes being open (which is just wrong), I think it's accurate with the relationship, which is "We had something special... but for some reason, this feels wrong. Like I'm kissing a stranger."

That interpretation makes sense, and it could be an interesting topic. It is however just that: An interpretation. Nothing of it is explained in-game. <_<

We shouldn't have to do the writer's job and try to make sense of the bits and pieces of a botched scene.

Yeah, that's my interpretation. There are so many, and it's sad that none can be called cannon, since it could literally mean anything. For all we know, she pulls away because Shepard gave her no tongue, and she was very disapppointed after the 2 year wait.<_<

Indeed.  My gal and your gal are doing pretty well.  It's tough to compete with Tali and Garrus, as they were in both games.

Its goood to see Miri and Liara fourth and third. Miri, Liara, Garrus and Tali are very very popular with Legion, Wrex and Mordin being the three most famous non LI.

It was actually pretty hard. I have about six characters I'd love to see back and will be hurt if they don't.

They'll all be back, but I'm betting some will just be cameos, while others will be squad mates.

I expect all to be cameos because Casey wants ME3 to be open to newcomers! <_<

Well, that's what I expect too as a pessimist, but I think a few will be back (along with the newcomers).

I would say, Liara has the best chances, followed by either Ash or Kaidan, then Legion, then Miranda.  The other ME2 characters seem to have too many possible 'death' variables.  I doubt Wrex will be back, as they will use him in the 'leader of the Krogan army' role (or Wreave).

I don't think Legion's chances are good. You can sell him to Cerberus after all, and he fails to upload his programs when he dies. So no Legion 2.0. And I don't think they'd bring Miranda back and cameo the other ME2 LIs. Part of my really wants this to be like TOB where ther survivors are your squad choices. Kill half the team? Too bad. But they won't.

Legino is very important tho to the Geth story and we all know the Geth will play a huge part in the war. Really Bioware only needs to make a couple of people alive for the stupid people who did't buy the first two games.

I am doubtful about Liara. To me it seems they want to sweep her even more under the rug than Ash and Kaidan. I for one have no doubt that Tali will be a companion and LI. Everyone else's role is anyone's guess, including Miranda's. I could imagine her in an important role just as easily as being tossed aside. It's all vague enough, that's for sure. But even clarity would mean nothing, as certainly every sign indicated the ME 1 companions would play an important role throughout the trilogy, and look how that turned out.

I like how they did TOB, and if ME3 was treated as an 'expansion' in a sense, I see no problem with them just porting over the surviving characters.  BW wrote dialog for all BG2 squadmates, regardless if you were to use them in TOB or not.    They also wrote TOB romances for all 4 LIs in that game, regardless if

you let them die after becoming vampirized.

However, it seems they want to attract 'new gamers' to the ME franchise with ME3 and they will probably focus on changing up the game engine again (if they want to bring in multi-player).   Therefore, I worry they will focus less on the old characters.

They won't toss Miri and other LI but let Tali and Garrus come back. One LI comes back, all come back, no Li comes back, then none come back and there will be ALOT of angry fans.

I don't know about that.  If you are worried about Miri, I think she has a better chance than Garrus or Tali, as both of them can die at so many different points in the suicide mission (on the ship, in the vents, during the 'long walk', if they lead the second fire team, if they are unloyal and you send them to escort the crew, if they are present and unloyal for the Reaper Terminator battle).  Miranda can only die if she is unloyal and present at the Reaper Terminator battle.  You have to know  this specifically to get her killed, and most casual gamers wlll not, and Miranda will end up living in their saves.
