Well, besides Liara's eyes being open (which is just wrong), I think it's accurate with the relationship, which is "We had something special... but for some reason, this feels wrong. Like I'm kissing a stranger."

I changed my Shepards face so i guess that was accurate :P

Oh yeah, I forgot to consider others' timezones. Ooops!

That is a great piece of fanart, though.

Here's the finished version of the Liara &  Shepard picture I commissioned from Aimo.  Instead of having Liara wear familiar clothing, she drew her wearing a dress shown in concept art for the Asari from ME1.

That is some good fanart!

Anyway not too many online right now?

What you did an ugly-shep makeover, so she's like this:

"That's Shepard???.... Well... I guess I can get passed... that... wonderful new face..."

*Kisses with her eyes open and tries not the throw up*

I think the 'eyes open, head shake' reaction was probably a fair reaction given the events of the past two years. Remember the last time Liara saw Shepard she was looking at a hamburger popsicle. I think that would creep anyone out not to mention Liara's own guilt for having done what she did and wondering, is this really my Shepard ? What did Cerebrus do ? What have I done ? etc.All of which are appropriate reactions given the circumstances. Disappointing as it was I think it still fits. My guess is that Liara will have the opportunity to meld with Shepard at some point for some story driven reason and discover, or not that her concerns about Shepard were unfounded helping her get past the whole meat popsicle image she has and possibly pick up where they left off in ME1. That would be a reset for Bioware regarding Liara as an LI.

It could be that the reason Reapers are so intent upon acquiring Shepard is because Shepard has the key to unlocking the Citidel buried in a vision. I think Liara will discover this along with finding out via SB data and Shepard's visions that TIM knew all along and used Shepard as bait to acquire reaper tech and build the ultmate weapon to rule the galaxy.

Bioware likes kissing with open eyes. Morrigan did the same and it was unsetling too.

Yeah, I've said it before but I don't actually mind the kiss and headshake. It shows that there's an extra dynamic to Liara's guilt over handing Shepard's corpse over to Cerberus, and her fear that Shepard will hate her. These emotions run alot deeper if Liara is your lover. That manifests itself as Liara being incredibly frightened of physical intimacy.

Yeah, I think TIM's main objectives were really just to use Shepard in order to A) Gain power to fight the Reapers, and B) Gain power that will make his vision of humanity rule over everything. It's one of the reasons why I knew I had to destory the base, since long term, it meant Cerberus Reapers.

With Liara, I agree, and do think it's realistic for what's been happening. I just wish they said something that involves "So... are we even still a couple?"

Well in general I think they will reset the ME1 romances for whatever reason they can make up,should they be squadmates again and were all back to square one again, stupid but inevitable I fear
Though ME2 really hinted at that happening, although it wasnt the "rocky" chapter of the romance,it was more like the "nonexistant" chapter of it,since as I said earlier you dont make a relationship rocky without talking about it,though at least the angry Shepard parts of Liaras dialogue have traces of that

As for why the reapers wanted the corpse,I doubt it was to unlock the Citadel, how would they have tried to achieve that they have no physical presence and the Collectors didnt look like a big military force
As for TIM of course his longterm plan was to get his hands on something that would help him create his Master race or whatever since if you read the books you get the impression simply putting humanity on top is not enough
Though I dont know if it really was to aquire reaper tech exclusively since theres plenty of it just lying around

It's the default male Shepard, "Sheploo", who has darker skin than Mark Vanderloo himself.   If he looks darker in the picture, it's the lighting and the shadows.

I suspect the devs thought if they provided an answer to the relationship question it would have interfered with what they intend with regard to a reset with that relationship. You do though get an acknowledgment with Liara's picture in your cabin which I suppose is better than nothing. The picture suggests that the romantic aspect of that arc is something that will continue. I just hope the devs give that story arc the attention it deserves because as far as I'm concerned the Shepard/Liara story is vital to Mass Effect and is one of the major reasons the game has been successful. The Liara/Shepard love scene from ME1 brought an enormous amount of media attention to Mass Effect and likely increased sales dramatically. Hopefully the devs won't forget what put them on the map

Sheploo scares me, with his blank face, and rapist smile. I could only play with that face if I was Renegade, and trying to be as dushbag as I possibly could.

At least he's recognizable over a random custom Shepard.  Even though I play my own custom Shepard, my intent was for the Shepard pictured to be "neutral" as the default Shepard.  I  wanted everyone to be able to enjoy the picture.

Well, I don't think her role in the series is that important. She's just the only one that's around for the whole ride, story wise. Love wise, I moved on to Tali 4 times after visiting Liara. Only after reading the comic am I now being fully faithful to her (Don't know why. Maybe it's because I actually know what happened this time, and thought her Commando moments were sexy). But if I didn't read the comic, I'd still hate her.

My own interpretation and theory as to the reasoning behind the almost complete absence of any kind of exclusive romantic content with Liara in ME2 is because I think that the romance and alot of the issues between Liara and Shepard will be tackled and handled in the Liara DLC, when we will get her "full ME2 role," so to speak. The severe lack of romance content, as well as the way we're artificially prevented from being intimate or comforting to her through Shepard to me indicates that it will eventually be handled in the Liara DLC.

At least, I hope so.

I think it's just because Liara was so focused on SB; once he was dealt with they could have a relationship again.

The more i think about it, it seems more a trap using player (character) centered morality than actually trying to make you change to a devs favorite LI. Leaving Liara after what she did for you (and the comic doesn´t say anything new ) and she is hunting on her own a powerful ally of the Collectors because she doesn´t go with you? What the Hell Hero in all its glory. (With Ash/Kaiden is asking them desertion and join a terrorist group. And people get angry at their reaction).
Funny you moved to Tali, from the videos she has a ME1 Liara air. Hope they address everything in ME3, but character writing is not as good as DA in either ME.

Maybe, and I'd agree that interpretation was alot more plausible if any exclusive romance content was actually included in-game. As it's all but absent, I think they're maintaining the status quo of the romance so that it can be tackled in the DLC.

I played it based off what I was given. I did not read the comic, nor read it's plot. And I didn't get the "Couldn't let you go" dialogue on my first game. After the treatment she gave me, I said to hell with her. I then saw the scene online, and read the plot of the comic. I then felt guilty, but at the same time, I didn't love the person she became. I felt guilty leaving her after all she did, but that didn't make me love her. I still felt like I was in a hopeless/dead relationship with someone I no longer cared for. I care now, but that's only because I now know everything, and want her to be ok.

I just hope the Trashed dialogue isn't a sign of things to come, since based on those lines, relationship wise, nothing was added after killing the Shadow Broker, besides her becoming worse.
