The more i think about it, it seems more a trap using player (character) centered morality than actually trying to make you change to a devs favorite LI. Leaving Liara after what she did for you (and the comic doesn´t say anything new ) and she is hunting on her own a powerful ally of the Collectors because she doesn´t go with you? What the Hell Hero in all its glory. (With Ash/Kaiden is asking them desertion and join a terrorist group. And people get angry at their reaction).
Funny you moved to Tali, from the videos she has a ME1 Liara air. Hope they address everything in ME3, but character writing is not as good as DA in either ME.
Well first the SB is not an ally of the Collectors he just made a business deal with them nothing more, hes actually never really on someones, the only thing he has an intrest in is profit
Also I dont believe he has anything to do with the reapers, the attempts to cram them in into the Liara/SB arc,I dont know they just seem like more or less vain attempts to bring some justification to a weak storyline
As for Ash/Kaidan I think its more like people are angry on how the whole thing plays out since they basicly walk out of the game before Shepard really gets any chance to explain him/herself
As for Tali,I agree in parts she sort of has taken Liaras spot in the romances, its actually strange they didnt really feel the need to change her much but Liara seemingly wasnt "dark and edgy" enough to fit in anymore
Which is overall my main problem with ME2 Liara, the change has nearly zero explaination, feels completely unnatural and was totally uncalled for
If they wanted to make her more confident have her "grow up" or whatever there were better ways to do it,she could also be on Illos researching trying to find something against the reapers, but god forbid someone else in the galaxy aside from Cerberus caring about the reapers, that would have tarnished their halo
Being an archealogist wasnt "dark and edgy" enough,so she had to be an information broker for the sake of "darkness",handling things "mob boss" style sitting behind a desk calling hits on people, threatning others,it doesnt matter why she does it,it just feelsso as I said uncalled for
The whole SB thing also had to be shoved in mainly to have a reason for her not joining, the comic was just a way to make a little extra cash with it,frankly her role in the comci could have been taken by other characters, for example Jacob and Miranda would have worked out too
