Anyways, the fact that Liara doesn't react to Miranda, nor express any romance dialogue, nor react to Garrus or Tali, nor mention Feron by name, nor does Shepard ever wonder why TIM said she was working for the Shadow Broker, really makes me believe everything involving Liara was thought up last minute. That they just didn't know what to do with her, and kept changing her till late in the game.

I have the theory that more or less the whole story was planned quite differently, but at some point significant changes were made. The only question is, for what reason. It can only be time constraints, or that the people in charge imposed some restrictions on the writers. Effectively it was probably a combination of both, time constraints and writers having their hands tied.

Maybe the writing staff was told not to acknowledge anything in the comic series, I could understand that but the lack of former squad interaction was a huge sorespot for me, 'stand alone game' ? If so then they went too far and simply gave me the impression that the squad is either suffering from some memory deficit, or pissed off about something or the writers just dropped the ball. This all makes me wonder if juggling a comic book and an RPG produces this kind of disconnect then what will a comic, an RPG, a movie and a multiplayer platforn produce ?

I was kind of excited after finding on the Collector ship mission that the Collectors were in fact genitically modified Protheans and one of my first thoughts was to go and inform Liara but that turned out to be a disappointment as did all of the other shortcomings from the writers. Too bad they weren't more creative with story lines, dialogue and character development. They're missing a whole lot of opporunities to achieve really awesome

It's pretty late, on a Friday night/early Saturday morning.

I'll leave some things for people to read in the morning, then.

Things about the Asari that sound like they could be true but probably aren't:
*An Asari's headcrest starts fused to her head as an infant, detaches from the skull/scalp by the Maiden stage and curls up, and slowly bends back down with age.
*For a one month period after an Asari is born, an Asari infant's biotics become become involuntarily active and can cause her to levitate and float right out of her crib.  To combat this, an Asari mother and her mate design and weave their own net for their child.  This net is fastened over the crib.  Some nets can be passed down from generation to generation.  The oldest nets are as ancient as the practice itself.
*An Asari's biotic abilities can flare up when she sneezes.

Feel free to add your own, as long as they sound like they could possibly be true and aren't totally outlandish.

*Alot of people theorise that an asari's figure becomes more voluptuous as they age, particularly when entering the Matriarch stage, but I think otherwise. I actually think the asari become more voluptuous as their biotic power increases. Consider Samara and Morinth. Both are very powerful biotics, with similar busty figures, and yet Morinth is hundreds of years younger than Samara. The other theory would dictate that Morinth should have smaller breasts than Samara, but this isn't the case. Therefore, I think an asari becomes more busty as her biotic power increases.

*When the asari first found the Citadel and colonised the station, they implemented alot of technology that can only be used by beings blessed with biotics. Upon making first contact with the salarians and the volus, they realised not all species are naturally capable with biotics and had to painstakingly alter alot of the architecture of the Citadel.

*The phrase "Embrace Eternity" that is used during a meld was first coined by primitive asari on Thessia as a means of preserving the memories of dying fellow asari by melding with them to store their memories as a means of honouring and remembering their memories. It soon became common practice to exclaim the phrase during all melds, however.

Well frankly the comic doesnt add that much new to the Liara situation, aside from giving a name to her friend,it shows nothing Liara doesnt tell you about in the game anyway
On squad interaction in general I have to say they all lack dialogue there is at least a ton of stuff I wanted to be able to talk about with Miranda alone, like the specifics of Project Lazarus or a more indepth discussion about Cerberus, since I never have the impression you make a dent in her loyality to them yet she quits anyway in the paragon ending
As for interaction inbetween the squadmates, that was just epic fail, sure the confrontations Jack/Miranda and Tali/Legion were somewhat nice but dont make up for the fact that their seems to be no real relationship among the squad
Also Shepard was a failure when it comes to interaction,Liaras scene is very iconic, but there are other ocassions as well like the fact that s/he is basicly indifferent about the coming back from death thing or the scene were Miranda just states she would have put a controlchip in you,I kind of expected Shepard to be more mistrusting of her after that at least for a time, but no s/he just goes with:mellow: as usual, hell you cannot even get angry at her

Also on a sidenote the whole Collectors are Protheans thing wasnt that much of a suprise for me,actually that theory was flying around on the old forums since they were introduced, though back then it was assumed they were actual survivors of the last invasion trying to create something to fight the reapers with the stuff they collect
As for Liara, well I could repost my rant from a few pages ago about what I think of ME2 Liara, but I will refrain from that

But compare Liara to Benezia. I mean, Benezia has been around longer to hone her skills, but Liara's no amateur. I don't think their figure has anything to do with age or biotic ability, it just varies from one to another, like humans.

That one combined with what people around seem to think about Liaras biotic power and potential really gives me a weird image of an older Liara:blink:

Given that people view her sort of as biotics incarnate because of her mother being somehow super special,I think we would leave the realm of physical atractiveness and enter the realm of curiousitys in that case:blink:

Maybe, but it's fun to speculate and theorise. :P

I actually think it could be a combination of the two. Both age and biotic ability dictates an asari's figure. I think it's pretty much a fact in lore that Benezia is a more powerful biotic than Liara, and she's obviously alot older. This would contribute to Benezia having a far more developed figure than Liara. I also think that Liara is very precociously powerful, as she has had to hone and use her biotics to a far greater extent in her proportionally short life than many other asari her age. Consequently, I think her biotics are far more developed and powerful than most other Maiden asari.

Actually, Matriarch Liara is something I've yet to see in fanart. I wonder how she'd look, how she'd change as she ages?

Alterations to her figure aside, I'm imagine that she'd lose her freckles, and that her face would lose it's youthful roundness, and become more angular and defined. Can't think of anything else!

No. I just said that i would love to see Liara when she is older (when her body have matured abit ).

Then I also said that it would be scary to meet Morinth when she gets old. She would proberly wind up being some cougar in the afterlife club seducing young people left and right and promises them snoo-snoo beyond their imagination!

Liara will eventually be a very progressive Matriarch, I feel. She's spent so much time around humans. She'd advocate moving on from the old conservative and traditionalist "long view" and the like, and adopting human traits like trying to accomplish as much as possible as quickly as possible.
