Indeed, that's why I posted that image of Shep and Liara in the previous page. I love seeing the two of them together! :P

Aww, that's a shame, it's a nice picture.

It's a picture of some pre-release artwork of Shepard holding an assault rifle, and someone has edited in Liara as she appears on the front cover of Redemption #1 standing next to him. It looks like they're standing side by side, battling the enemy. :D

Well, first off, if this thread were a bar, and I had the moolah, I'd buy each of you a drink (non alchoholic, I'm on duty here Posted Image). My previous real interaction with a sect of the Mass Effect community has been over at Deviant Art, where I had to look high and low to find people who like Liara. Most of the Mass Effect fans I ran into over there kept saying they consider Liara to be nothing but an obnoxious fanservice and how they a) Want to throw her out the airlock, B) Wished they could have left her with the bomb on Virmire or just c) Dislike her generally. Now it wasn't everyone, but it seemed to be the majority. And these comments never ceased to get me into a very grumpy mood. (Although her popularity did seem to increase a bit with the release of Mass Effect 2)
And then I found this thread. Posted Image I must have been reading it for two straight hours in a gratified stupor. Not only was it the largest concentration of Liara Support I had encountered before, but it was filled with informed, thoughtful and mature discussion about Liara's character and her relationship with Shepard. And it does this without relying on the belittlement of other characters. I've been trying to catch up by reading all the pages, but I kinda gave up at seventy-five.

I'm pretty sure this thread beats the crap out of what I've seen of the Kaidan Support thread, which consisted of the same picture of a nekkid Kaidan reposted over and over with the accompanying fangirling, and the discussion of Shenko music videos.

In short, I love this thread, heck it's why I made this profile in the first place! It feels really really good to find other people who share my opinion her character. It has my full support and endorsment. Onward to an momentous conclusion to the Liara romance in Mass Effect 3!

I played through Mass 1 the first time as a Female Shepard, but I played through Mass 2 for the first time as a Male Shepard. A Male Shepard who romanced Liara I might add. Posted Image

All that working for Cerberus stuff was just another forced and actually totally unnecessary idea, just like killing Shepard and swapping out most of the crew. Who had the idea that a simple continuation of the story were be a bad thing? I could easily think up a proper story line for that. But, to answer my own question: It was the people who decided the game should be as open as possible for new players, and that, if anything, only the loudest barkers on the forums should be thrown a bone.

Definitely, too much of ME2 felt like a Choose Your Own Adventure book with options like:
"If you disagree about working with Cerberus turn to page 57."
"If you agree to work with Cerberus turn to page 57."
"If you don't care and want to get back to shooting crap turn to page 57."

I still kept picking the "not working with Cerberus" and "Cerberus blows" options, but really after awhile I didn't care and was just going through the motions.  It didn't matter what made sense or what my character thought, everything was going to happen the same regardless.  Sadly there is probably less stupid dialog to endure if you just go along and think Cerberus invented sunshine and kittens.
Same with the being reanimated.  Jacob tells you that you were just meat and tubes, that you're probably not a clone, and that you've got some extra bits.  Miranda says you don't have a control chip in you.  And that resolves the whole having been dead issue and reanimated by Cerberus, back to shooting stuff!
The whole scene with TIM at the baby reaper was annoying to me as well.  When TIM's hologram popped up my first thought was, "Uh, I didn't authorize data and real time information about the mission to be sent to Cerberus."  Oh wait, I'm just a spectator here.
I enjoy all the speculation and discussion about possible rational explanations for events and their presentation in the game, but it really gets hard to believe much thought was put into anything when you look at how so many story elements were handled across the board.

i just told TIM "you work for ME now!, Joker shut that comm down"

Welcome, IndigoWolfe! Glad to have you aboard!

I've never really encountered alot of Liara hate on dA, most of the comments for any fanart of her are positive, and there are alot of very good pieces of Liara.

Yeah, we're all pretty much Liara fanatics here, we can't get enough of her! Although this thread has fewer pages than the other character fan threads, it has alot of substance and interesting and insightful discussion of Liara. Glad to see you participating!

I've always wondered how that would play out in the future. I just tell him to Shove it. I haven't told him he works for me now before. It should be interesting.

This isn't meant to sound like I'm trying to attack you and honestly I'm not, but it seems to me that you would agree with just about anything that finds fault with this game.

So, where was it said that there will be substantial, story-driven DLC in the works for ME2? The GDC is only a few days away, so I hope it's confirmed there as being Liara's content.
