The lighting in Liara's office sucks, just so you all know.

It's so bright and not homey. The whole decor of the office is very sterile...nothing in it screams, 'This is Liara's office!' She needs to personalize it! (and, no jokes about how it does fit her b/c she doesn't have a personality and is a bland blah blah character).

It makes me sad.

I always seen Liara as something of a modest girl. Wouldn't fit her to have a office completly filled with all sorts of flashy things on display. But a small picture of Shepard or something sentimental wouldn't hurt.

The lighting seems to change dependent on angles...sometimes Liara looks more 'purple' and sometimes more 'gray'.

Her eye color even looks different in some shots...

Image IPB

..the top one looks 'purple', while the others gray (ignoring the last set from ME1).

She does have some potted plants and some books, but that just screams 'generic dentist office' to me.

She doesn't need anything flashy, just a small Prothean artifact or something.

Shepard should give his orb to her :wizard:

Liara hasn't had time for decorating with her business.  Poor woman.  :(  It's been go-go-go since Shepard died.  Nyxeris was a crappy assistant.  She could have helped her in that department.  If my Shepard could, she would bring a few of her friends to come over and totally redesign the place, complete with beautiful b&w photos of the couple together.

I just thought of something else...

While Shepard leaves Tali and Garrus to decorate, she picks up Liara and drags her back to the Normandy to research um...wallpaper.

:innocent:

I would prefer to give the thing to Liara than to just have it sit on my coffee table.

It was cool to click it once or twice to see it grow and shrink, but that gets old quick.

I know exactly what you mean. I hate the thought of her spending all her time in that horrible place, driving herself slowly mad.  I want to get her out there so bad... get her back on the Normandy with me where she belongs... back to being a scientist.... *cries*

For those that can hack the camera in the PC version, has anyone tried to read her notes? There's a bunch of papers scattered on her desk.

I'm sure it would just be jibberish.
I'm not saying that Liara is only capable of writing jibberish, in case you were wondering.  :P

quick question guys

If I were to hypothetically leave the Therum mission last (in order to have liara go crazy and get mad at me on the normandy ) can you still romance her? So if I go feros, noveria, virmire then therum how can I lock in a romance withn her? I can talk to her immediately after therum but I don't think that first convo is the one where you confirm a romance, if so is there a chance for a second chat between escaping from the citadel and ilos?

If you leave Therum last (in which she thinks your a illusion), then she is un-romacable. If Therum is the 1st or 2nd world you've visited, she's romacable.

I'm pretty sure there is no way to have a chat between the Citadel and Ilos (maybe after BDtS).

You only get to the talk before she tells Shepard she´s falling for him if my memory is right. Didn´t try making N7 missions before Ilos in that playthrough and see if it advanced the dialogues with her. Just after fleeing the citadel it is fixed lines as everyone else´s.

Ugh, Liara's office. It's so sterile, it's so generic, so soulless, so lifeless. I hate the fact that she's spending virtually all of her time stuck in there, sad, lonely and depressed. Hate it!!

I actually like to imagine that Liara has a small locket in one of her desk drawers that contains a picture of both her and Shepard together. She periodically takes it out and stares at it, wishing she was back in Shepard's arms and enjoying much, much happier times.

If Shepard has a picture of Liara on his/her desk, I can't see why Liara wouldn't have a locket or picture somewhere in her office. Its obvious she still cares enough about Shepard to have one.

I still wish the final scene before the Omega 4 relay had Liara staring at a picture of Shepard back on Illium (on top of what we got). Just like you suggested Les. That being said, I think the picture scene on the Normandy was quite powerful, and despite the rest of game involving her, the picture scene gave me hope, in an otherwise dark experiance.

That's what I've long advocated. During the picture scene, and as Shepard is staring sadly at Liara's photo, it should have cut to Illium. Liara would have stopped working, stood up and turned around to stare sadly at the sky above her balcony. A silent prayer, pleading with nobody in particular that Shepard will stay safe in the battles ahead. A single tear trickles down Liara's cheek.

That would have been so powerful. Emphasises that they're lovers apart, but still caring deeply about each other.

That would be very touching , i'd have liked to have seen a flash back to me1 when Liara first kissed Shepard ^_^  *blushes* Image IPBImage IPB

What I like is how the picture scene parallels with the pre-Ilos scene. In ME1, when Liara walks into Shepard's cabin and requests to speak with her, Shepard says that she was just thinking about Liara. Fast forward to the pre-Omega 4 relay scene, and again Shepard is thinking about Liara. This time, however, she's not going to walk through the door. They're not going to be able to comfort and support each othe with their love. They're isolated.

Sad, and very poignant.

I like to think Shepard is saying to himself "I´m not going to die on you again",

This ^^ is exactly why I feel so strong about the picture scene in ME2. Its meant to replace the love scene. It shows that both parties still care about each other, and are not alone (although they are physically). As I've said before, the picture scene in ME2 is what I consider the most powerful in the game. Its deep, thought provoking, sad, and above all else  emphasizes the pain of being apart, in the hopes of one day being reunited with each other.
