It doesn't matter for you as you'll never see the potential 'fight' scene.  :P

True. :P Guess I'm just too concerned about how Liara is presented in other's ME saves!

They could do with other options and choices besides paragon/renegade score, as with the Miri/Jack confrontation. The Dragon Age system would be better for this, but they aren´t likely to put in the last game. Maybe the LI Event Horizon were they left you anyways...

Given everything Liara described about what it meant to her and subsequently everything she did for Shepard including all the risks and sacrifices she made it seems pretty lame if you were unfaithful to her to experience some minimal consequence. It just degrades the meaning of the relationship including the reward for remaining faithful. I'm hoping the consequence is significat at least in terms of a story arc.

Yeah, like you said, I doubt they will shoehorn a DA like system into the final game of the trilogy. I will be very surprised if the LI confrontation in ME3 isn't dependant on morality points.

Maybe like an awesome unforgetable love scene toward the end for those faithful and an absence or inability to attain such for the unfaithful

Nope, no new Liara news sadly, Mithran! Keep your eyes peeled when E3 rolls around, however.

I just hope they make the romance scene where you remain loyal to your LI to be the best romance scene ever. Reson for this is I remained loyal to Liara in ME 2. I would even help her find the Shadow Broker and let her kill him.
After I get to put a few bullets into the Shadow Broker firstImage IPB

Then I think I will have Grunt take the cofee cup containing the Shadow Brokerback to Wrex, then I will let Wrex feed the Shadow Broker's remains to a Varren.Image IPB

Just hope to continue my romance with LiaraImage IPB

That would be fine by me, LET. By romancing someone in ME2, you're saying that you prefer them to your ME LI (or in my case, are curious if the Talimance lives up to the hype. My gut says I'll like Liara). I don't think players should be locked out of their ME2 LI because they also had one in ME.

Umm, not sure how to say this, but if you're not into Tali, and didn't like her much during ME1, then I don't think her romance is going to do anything for you. So if you not interested in Tali, then I'd say just stick with the people you like the most. A romance is only a good romance if that's an actual person you want to romance.

LesEnfantsTerribles wrote...

That's
your subjective view of the status of Liara's romance in ME2, however. I
happen to interpret it very differently, and consequently feel that if
Shepard does trash her then she should be appropriately punished. The
relationship may be a little strained and difficult at the moment, but
in no way does that justify running off and sleeping with someone else.

I agree there should be some kind of consequence for moving on from your ME1, and going with an ME2 LI, but look at it this way:

You played ME1 2 years ago, and romanced a character. Then ME2 comes along, and you fall in love with someone else, and feel like the relationship with your ME1 character is dead. Are you saying you should just be miserable, and stay with your ME1 LI because she's done good things for you in the past, even though you no longer love her?

The answer is I'd rather tell her I can't take this, and that I'm moving on. Or express how miserable I am, so she has a shot to win me over that the current Liara is someone I can love. But Bioware didn't give me any of that. So I'm stuck with either feeling like this is hopeless, or moving on without telling her, or play time machine.

TMA, I loved Tali during ME. It's the romance per se I'm wondering about. I'm concerned she may come off as overly fragile and not Shep's emotional equal. Used to think that about Liara. Then I replayed her romance...

K. I just thought you might be romancing her based on the hype. As for her romance, well my point of view of it is that it's very Guillermo Del Toro in how it's done, and kind of fairy tale-ish. She's fragile in the romance scenes, but it's in a nice way, since it might involve getting her killed. But back to Liara, since this is the Liara thread.

Well, I didn't think she was fragile, but I thought of her as someone I should shelter, but she didn't want me to shelter her. Instead she wanted to handle things on her own emotionally. I always felt sorry for her and a little sad, because I always felt she wasn't allowing me to truely help her when she needed it the most.

I've always felt about Liara that she was the only LI who was capable of being by Shepard's side as an equal. Someone who would give as well as recieve without being needy or dependent or insecure, jealous or immature. Dispite being of another species Liara seems to me to be not only the best choice for Shepard but the only choice. There is no other.

If in ME3 Shepard can experience the apex of their love then I'll be very pleased with BW.

I couldn't possibly think of anything meaningful to add to this, so I'll just say this: I agree 110%

TMA, I think this boils down to the fact that you can't tell your ME1 LI face to face that you feel the relationship is over, and wish to move on. I do agree that this is something that should have been included in the game, just as I wish that there was a dialogue choice with the ME2 LIs that rejected their romance, and expressed the intention to remain loyal to your ME1 LI. Just bad oversights really.

Assuming that Shepard & Co. and all of the populated planets survive ME3, I wonder what it would be like for Shepard & Liara on Thessia, if they're together, after the game.

To be whimsical for a moment:

Shepard, having the Kirk Genes, seems to attract the alien ladies.  Considering this, and his reputation, which precedes him, would he have Asari taking an interest in him while Liara fends them off?  Or is this just a male wish-fulfillment fantasy?  I don't think so.  The same thing might happen with FemShep, the Asari being the Asari.

After all, maybe Liara's changed.  Maybe she's not so possessive as she was in ME1, where we can see her snap at the Consort for getting suggestive with Shepard.  She's definitely more mature.  She probably trusts that Shepard can deal with the matter himself.

Still, it's a funny image, Liara giving the stink-eye to every Asari who takes a gander at Shepard as the two of them take a walk in the city.

I think Liara and Shepard have more between them for that to happen but agreeably Asari women, especially those who've 'melded' with Shepard certainly seem to have developed an affinity. Yes it is a funny image.
Squeeeeeee !!!!!!!

I think Liara would trust Shepard enough to know that he'd never cheat on her. That said, I don't think she could stop herself from eyeing other Females who look like they're making a move on Shepard suspiciously/jealously and whatnot. Same may go for those who Shepard finds attractive and looks at....I mean, it happens ;-)

Damn Kirk genes....I just want my Liara <3

I've just seen the news article on the front page about Redemption, and I noticed something interesting. I took a screenshot in case they "correct" it....

Hehe, it was probably just a freudian slip......but it's kinda telling, if even the Bioware staff instantly think "female" when they think "Commander Shepard"

It'll probably get changed as soon as it becomes more noticed....

....and they'll probably attack us with Sheploo to make up for it
