My guess is that they'll put her on the observation deck where Samara is now. Have you noticed that the two ME2 characters who mirror Liara in terms of abilities (Jack and Samara) are two of the easiest characters to kill off or write out if they survived? I'd say that bodes well for us.

That was another option...I think Liara would like Samara's room (I believe it has a desk, couches, and some book-cases).  I don't see Samara coming back as a squad mate, as she only pledged herself to Shepard's crew for the mission.  She does say she will 'help' if needed in the future (for Paragons, at least), but I'm sure this will be in the form of a small cameo.

Yeah, Jack too was the other 'adept-like' squad mate and is pretty easy to write out.  I'm half-surprised she didn't just take off in the middle of a fight while Shepard was distracted, to go enjoy her newfound freedom.

Samara's room also has the best 'view', IMO. Some of my favorite shots of my Shepard come from when she's talking with Samara next to that huge window. It would be awesomely romantic to get some shots of Shep and Liara near that thing!

Samara said she'd return to help a Paragon Shepard, if he asks for her to return.

Yes, but will this 'help' be to the same extent Liara and Wrex helped Shepard in ME2?  This is what I expect, at least.

Well, it could be anywhere.  It depends on who is coming back from ME2.  They also could re-do part of the interior of the Normandy, adding extra rooms that we just didn't get to see in ME2.  As it stands with a full crew (in my game, at least, I had no one die), there would be no room that Liara could claim as her own.

She doesn't do the same kind of research as Mordin does, so I don't think she'd need the lab much.  If she's going to be doing her info brokering on the ship, she would probably need an office.

Here's an interesting thought. The AI core room, where Legion resides, parallels with Liara's room on the old Normandy in ME1. So what if, in ME3, if Liara is still info brokering or sorting through the Shadow Broker's data or something she takes up residence in the AI core room, as Liara would like EDI's assistance in sorting through the data whilst she's not out in the field with Shepard? It would harken back to ME1 quite nicely, I feel.

I hope she does. But her and Thane are the two characters which screams ME3 CAMEOS! I hope she will return, but I doubt it.

Jack didn't run off for several reasons, the least of which is that she's a squadmate, and needed to be around for the suicide mission.

EDIT: Deleted from my previous post after it was an edit some people might not have seen.

But it's so small and cramped! How will she work in there? Looks like she have to stay in the cabin!^_^

Well, yeah, she was one of the squad mates so from a gameplay perspective, she was needed.

If I was her, and Shepard was a douche who didn't give me the Cerberus data, for example, I'd sneak off the next time the Normandy landed on Omega.  Why stay?  She has no loyalties to Shepard and definitely hates Cerberus.  Even if you are nice to her, what motivates her to stay after helping her with her mission?  I don't think she is getting paid like Kasumi and Zaeed.

It reveals a part of her character and personality, and it's significant if one is paying attention to her character development.

She has no reason to stick around if you're an ass to her.  If you're nice to her, or romance her...

I really think Samara will be a cameo. Either she'll help Paragons out of some scrape or she'll try to kill Renegades.

The thought of Liara shots with the view from the observation deck in the background

As far as Liara needing her own office, as long as she doesn't use one particulaaar office, it's fine. It would be a shame for all the intelligence and contacts she's gained in the last few years to go to waste.

I was nice to Jack, and she told be to basically '****** off' and leave her alone.  I don't see her sticking around in ME3. Perhaps if you romance her, she will.

I'm actually wondering if Liara will dismantle her information network once the Shadow Broker has been taking care of. She sees him as an evil and a menace that must be stopped, and probably finds his business quite abhorrent too. Once the SB has gone, and his organisation disintegrates too, would Liara not also want to end her own network in order to attempt to permanently remove what she sees as a vile and seedy business from the galactic community?

Some of us Samaratans think that she will help to get the Asari on Paragon Shepard's side in fighting off the Reapers, since Paragon Shepard will likely have to rely on the help of his allies, as he doesn't have the Reaper tech from the Collector base.

Or maybe, in ME3 Liara will become the head of her network in name only, and will leave the day to day running of it to a comittee that she selects, whilst she then goes off and saves the galaxy with Shepard.

Do you mean what essentially amounts to the end of the dialogue options with her?  She stonewalls all Shepards like that who haven't romanced her.

I was nice to Subject Zero all throughout the game (female Shepard) and she still treated my character and the other crew like dirt. Worst character in the history of BioWare. Luckily I can kill two birds with one stone and not talk to Jacob or her and get both of them killed!

Right, so the ME2 Adepts are pretty easy to write out and remove their status of squadmates in order to facilitate bringing Liara back into the squad, but what about the ME2 Soldiers and Sentinels? I'm also very confident Ashley and Kaidan will be back, so they'll need to remove the ME2 versions of their respective classes in order to bring both of them back.

Off the top of my head, aren't the ME2 Soldiers Grunt and Zaeed, and the Sentinels Miranda and Thane?

Did you miss the part where she essentially thanks you for helping her put her past behind her?  That's a big thing, considering her character.

The only sentinel squadmate is Miranda. Also most of the squadmates seems to have one half of a real class. Case in point Tali.

AI Hack
Combat drone.
Energy drain (overload with a twist).

She is basicly a engi without the incarnate or cryo blast.

I actually think the devs might have something else planned for Ash/Kaidan since they have become functionally interchangeable despite having very different personalities. That said, Zaeed and Thane have easy puts. Grunt could go back to Tuchanka or still be in his pod. Miranda is a good bit harder, though I admit to being horribly biased there. I want her back.

I wouldn't call Thane a Sentinel...there is only one in ME2, really (Miranda).  They'll still need at least one more, as Kaidan might not be in everyone's game.

Same with Ash and the soldiers, they will need some since she may not be in everyone's game.

Id say that Legion will most likely come back for sure though.

That's what I think will happen. They'll leave one Soldier and one Sentinel in the squad in ME3, and then reintroduce either one of Ashley or Kaidan so that you still have a representative of each class.
