I was nice to Subject Zero all throughout the game (female Shepard) and she still treated my character and the other crew like dirt. Worst character in the history of BioWare. Luckily I can kill two birds with one stone and not talk to Jacob or her and get both of them killed!
Did you miss the part where she essentially thanks you for helping her put her past behind her? That's a big thing, considering her character.
One "thanks" in a myriad of meanness is no thanks at all.

I've just seen the news article on the front page about Redemption, and I noticed something interesting. I took a screenshot in case they "correct" it....
See if you can notice what's "wrong" with this picture
They call Liara a "former" comrade?

I think that's due to the fact that Shepard was nothing more than a carcass at that point.
In the pre-release promotional material for Redemption, though, they did call Liara Shepard's "close companion."

Depends on how it's said, depends on who's hearing it, depends upon what the thanks is for. It meant a lot to me and my Shepard.

Or maybe now that they've got all the money from Liara fans they can start advertising her as they intend to use her.

That area is huge and could fit more than one. My preference though for Liara is the cabin, that would be perfect but it would seem that some resolution occur prior to Liara coming onboard which I hope will happen in DLC. There are reasons for all of the squad members to stay or go.

Wouldn't Liara in the captain's cabin be a bit odd for Sheps who didn't romance her?
That's what the cargo bay is for

Besides, what can Liara realistically do in a huge, empty space like that?

Hehe, it was probably just a freudian slip......but it's kinda telling, if even the Bioware staff instantly think "female" when they think "Commander Shepard"
Or it's because of the fact that they'd been writing about Liara up until that point and knew they would be right after that, so they were thinking about that. It'd be an easy mistake to make, one that I've made many times. Not necessarily because they were thinking of Shepard as female.

The direction in which this is going is about as subtle as a boot to the face.

Will the cargo bay ever be something we can freely explore, though? In ME2, it was just used as the location for the Oculus battle, nothing more.

That area houses the vehicles. It does have a terminal and something of a desk. All that's needed is an elevator stop to gain access. If Liara was not your LI it might be an unimposing place to put her. However she was and is my Shepard's LI so I'm thinking cabin

Well, I placed an order for Redemption (and Alpha Protocol). Hopefully, it'll get here soon and I can start writing in earnest.
Awesome! You are continuing with your Miranda/Liara fic then?

I love the idea of flirting with Liara whilst out in the field!
I like to imagine my Shepard does so when she's talking to Liara over and over.
I just want there to be more then this.
"I like you"
"So do I."
"Tell me about your self."
"LETS HAVE SEX!!!!!"
The Liara relationship was totally more than that...
"I like you"
"So do I."
"Tell me about your self."
"LETS WAIT TO HAVE SEX!!!!!"
"OK!!!"
"I like you"
"So do I."
"Tell me about your self."
"LETS WAIT TO HAVE SEX!!!!!"
"OK!!!"
"WE MIGHT DIE SOON! LETS HAVE SEX!!!!"
"OK!!!"
LETS HAVE SEX...........IN OUR MIND!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course....because no one could possibly think of Shepard as female...
Sorry I've angered the MaleShep Brigade again.

That's not what I was saying. By all means, it's possible that it was the writer thinking of Shepard as female, but I think it's just as likely that it was the writer thinking about the pronouns to use for Liara as it is the writer was thinking of a Female Shepard.
And you didn't offend me at all.
I'm the MaleShep Brigade? That's rather odd, considering only four out of my thirty-or-so Shepards have been male...

I think I'm going to buy the comic. Yes, I realize I will probably want to gouge out my eyes afterward. The things I do for love.
Don't feel bad. I bought a $200 dollar iPod Touch, just to read the comic. Not sure if it was worth it, but I can now play Pheonix Wright on it, so that's cool.
Hey jib524, what picture is your profile pic from anyways?

I already have all four copies of Redemption. Stored in plastic and zip-locked for freshness. Of course, number one is a little worn, after I read it like ten times when I first got it. I think it and issue two were the best, after that, it went downhill, character-wise.
And Alpha Protocol... thinking about getting that game, but first I have to get another copy of ME2. After the Collector's Edition made me accidentally crack the first disc.
At least my Illium saves are still valid.
