That's what got people speculating on the likes of Kal'Reegar and Captain Bailey eventually being squaddies.

If they can't bring back the squadmates in ME2 because they can die, they won't bring back Kal.

Yup, it's poseable for Kal to die. As for interupts. How about punching Shepard in the face to show emotions?

Yeah, I've just checked the wiki and it says Kal'Reegar can die. Ooops!

I'd fully support Shepard getting punched in order to show some emotion to Liara. I'd also like a hug interrupt with Liara. Hey, Tali got one, so why not Liara? She's been through alot worse.

Yeah, but that's at the beginning of the scene, and only if you didn't romance her. Once she reveals her feelings, and especially if you are in a romance with her, there absolutely needed to be some kind of caring, supporting reaction from Shepard.
