I think he means Ancient Rome, considering what we're told about asari civilisation in the codex.

That's funny I thought the Turians were based (at least in part) on Imperial Rome.
The Asari are too diplomatic to be Based of the Romans.
Maybe the Byzantines (one in the same I know but they had different qualities)

Maybe, yeah. I do know that the name "Thessia" is derived from the Ancient Greek province of Thessaly. We're told that asari civilisation is comprised of loosely connected great republican cities, so I think the asari and their culture and civilisation is an amalgamation of various ancient Europeans civilisations.

The emphasis they place on careful diplomacy makes me think Byzantium
Then again the Salarians espionage network also makes me think Byzantium...or maybe Venice.

I checked the ME wiki, and it said that the structure of the Asari Republics is closely related to ancient Mediterranean city-states. So yeah, I think that's what the asari are supposed to be.

Well I guess that's solved.

The Turians are supposed to be Roman space Raptors right?
Because that's the vibe I got from them.

Laters!

I'm not sure about the turians...I guess they're like Ancient Rome.

If the asari are like the Ancient Greeks, then Liara is Aphrodite. :-)

But Aphrodite was a total sl*t.
And Liara isn't a sl*t.
So that one doesn't work.

I'd go with the Roman Godess Juno.
Same portfolio without the sl*t persona.

That works.

I guess TIM would be Hades, as he controls Cerberus.:P

Juno/Hera or Aphrodite/Venus just don´t match with her character. With Juno at least people would be to afraid to cheat...Maybe Persephone, WITHOUT the TIM as Hades part, but I don´t know her myth well.

TIM as Hades besides the Cerberus joke doesn´t fit either. Kidnapping his wife aside, Hades was much nicer than most of the pantheon whatever movies say.

We were going with a little inaccurate license.
But yes I know these things.

Yeah, alot of what I was saying was tongue in cheek anyway. I don't actually know much about these ancient mythological figures, I just know of them.

It's still fun, though!

Juno (Latin pronunciation: /juːnoː/) was an ancient Roman goddess, the protector and special counselor of the state. She is a daughter of Saturn and sister (but also the wife) of the chief god Jupiter and the mother of Mars, Minerva and Vulcan. Her Greek equivalent is Hera.

As the patron goddess of Rome and the Roman empire she was called Regina ("queen") and, together with Jupiter and Minerva, was worshipped as a triad on the Capitol (Juno Capitolina) in Rome.

As the great Juno Moneta (which the ancients interpreted as "the one who warns") she guarded over the finances of the empire and had a temple on the Arx (one of two Capitoline hills), which was the mint. The epithet Moneta ultimately derives from the legend of the Gallic attack on Rome by Brennus in 390 BC, during which the Romans, having retreated into the citadel, where awakened at night by the sacred geese of Juno and, thus, alerted to the coming of the Gauls. Consequently, Juno became Juno Moneta, she who warns/protects

There is a possible etymology for Juno in the Proto-Indo-European root *yeu-, "vital force", which has such derivatives as the English youth.[1] Although such a derivation could possibly be consistent with an origin as a mother goddess, it is more likely that the root *yeu- is used in the same sense as other Latin words derived from it, such as iuvenis ("young man", with derivatives such as juvenile and rejuvenate), which would imply that Juno's nature prior to the syncretism of Greek and Roman mythology was more akin to Diana's, as a maiden goddess of birth or midwifery. However, the Roman absorption of Greek myth replaced earlier characteristics of Juno with those of Hera, extending her domain from birth to marriage and promoting her to the role of Jupiter's wife and the queen of the gods. She could also throw lightning bolts like Jupiter.[2]

The fail Reaper.
Think about it they made it stay in our galaxy while they got to sleep off their galatic genocide.
They probably pick the most fail worthy reaper to be the vanguard.
