Sounds as my infiltrator Motoko Shepard I based in the character from Ghost in the Shell (optical camouflage in ME2
was great and fitting  to that idea).
Had one Shepard for Kaiden and Ashley and a not romance one but the harddrive died a few months before ME2 and find it hard not to romance Liara. Only way is leaving Therum for the end. Her sadness when you reject her...can´t watch it again.

See, I wouldn't even be able to pick up Liara last. I have to go get her ASAP. I avoid all Citadel sidequests. I need to go get her as soon as I can!!

I usually do that too, or go to Kahoku´s men to get another level and have it easier with the krogan. Pity Liara is too exhausted to deal with him.

So, I have completed Liara's quests. You guys got screwed, you really did. Barely any acknowledgment of the romance. The kiss was brief and Liara seemed awkward and unsure. If I wasn't so certain the romance will be resolved in ME3, I'd say that she's moved on and whatever feelings she had for Shepard are gone but she doesn't want to admit it after everything she went through. I'm using that for the story, but it doesn't make it less awful. The hug was more intimate. The hug! *grumbles*

Yeah, but if anything is clear is she has NOT moved on from Shepard. Works better if she wasn´t romanced. On the other side, with the Virmire survivor not romanced it does seem like they do not care all s/he went through with Shepard. If you can´t write characters in a plot then probably that plot is wrong, BW.

Yeah, I feel the same. The only thing that counters that is knowing the romance will start again in ME3. But after that scene, a part of me didn't want to. Though with my Shepard, I feel like they're strangers again, and don't know how to talk about it. However, I still feel it's bad, because it's all over within a few minutes. I'd rather it went longer then that. I'd rather they actually talked.

It will work for your story, like you say, as you are having Liara move on from Shepard.  That's actually a good way to interptret the kiss, given that situation.

I have this horrible weakness for overwrought, even corny romance.  I ate it up.  *watches the ever growing list of Sheps to be played with increasing panic* Not that I don't still love Liara. I just love Tali and Miranda too. Liking so many female characters is strange for me. Usually I fixate on one or two men.

My two favourite characters in the ME series are Liara and Ashley, so I agree about this series having some fantastic female characters.

Knowing Bioware, I rather have Liara be a cmaeo in ME3 then get a reset in the romance department.

That's what fanfic is for.

That's why if we get a crappy continuation to the Liara romance in ME3 I will have fanfiction to create my own version of Liara's romance!

I wrote a better romance scene for Miri and a better cameo scene for Liara and Ash!

Developed: yes. Acknowledged: no. They've been exchanging letters for the last two years, and have become quite close that way. The kiss is her wake up call. Shepard is a stranger to her now. Miranda isn't. And she wasn't afraid of what she would think. The kiss is fanfic gold, even if it makes me angry as someone who enjoyed the canon romance.
