Yeah, I've long believed that it has always been BioWare's intention to have Liara and Ash/Kaidan play the greatest story role of all returning squadmates in ME3. The fact that Casey has flat out said that they want them to be alive for ME3 leads credence to this.



Also, I hope Liara has the greatest and deepest of the romance conclusion and resolution in ME3. Because she is the only LI guaranteed to be alive for ME3, I think that she may be the romance continuation that BW spend the most amount of time, care and attention to ensure that it is deep, emotional and satisfying.



We just the the DLC to be released now so we get a proper continuation and Shepard doesn't sit there like a statue!

Also, I noticed in ME1 that Liara's helmet is bigger than the human squaddies' helmets, so as to fit in her head fringes. I noticed it during one of the many times I stopped to stare at her. <3

Finally got myself to post something in here. I just love this thread.
I recently made a little video for my blue Goddes. (with the unused Liara & Shepard Voice Files) <3
Maybe someone likes it too. If someone is interested, u can find it here.

Welcome, arcuido! Glad to have another keen Liara fan here!

I liked the job you did with the Hidden Liara audio files for that video. Another one of your videos caught my eye, too. Your editing of the Omega Relay picture scene. What you did to the scene was simple, but powerful, and how I like to imagine Liara was like at the time. The way you've edited it so she's standing on her balcony on Illium and looking out of it is very sad and poignant, and I love the idea that Liara was thinking of Shepard at the exact same time he/she was thinking of her. I wish it could have been in the game somehow. Thank you very much for making it!

I love Liara, and can't get enough of her either. :wub:

Very interesting I have never heard those clips before since they never made it into the final version. It does have me a little worried about Liara now though. Considering these clips were even made this must be the direction BW was thinking  or at least leaning towards. In these clips Liara has gone to the darkside more then I thought. It seems Liara did fight the Sb and killed him but she still will not go with Shepard since she still wants to kill every agent.

Well I hope it was not in the final version because they changed their minds or this could be how the dlc plays out.

I think this will be a DLC Mission.

Maybe we are getting some little nice scenes on the Normandy with Liara. Because she´s going with u to go kill the SB.. hopefully a long way to his "Base". ^^

Really? Wow, thanks! I'm glad you liked my idea, and thanks for creating it! I wish the picture scene could have been something like that, it would have cut to Liara on Illium. She would've stopped working, turned around and stared sadly at the sky, thinking about Shepard. Would have been very moving.

Nastrod, I wouldn't worry about Liara or her going over to the "dark side". These unused files are going to remain just that...unused. The whole Liara vs the Shadow Broker plot has been greatly expanded and revised, and the original excuse that Liara couldn't come with you because she "had to read the data" was so lame it's not even funny. Also, it seem the original intention was that Nyxeris would have been killed in order to tie up loose ends, and ont as a step to finding the Shadow Broker as it is now. Plus, she isn't exactly enjoying what she is doing, as the said and pensive pause when she says "For better or for worse" attests to, and she does express regret that she cannot come with Shepard in Mass Effect 2. Liara is fine, she's not become evil or going to the dark side or anything. It's a facade and a defense mechanism.

Im not even sure if i wanted her to come with me (my FemShep loves her,sure, but still my Shep wants the best for her. And if this Information Business is the right thing for her. then its good for my Shep. She can still visit her on Illium). If she likes the Information Business, then this is perfect for her. What life would she have on the Normandy ? She isnt (in my eyes) the "soldier" girl who goes from fight to fight. Her new job fits her i think. Just my two cents *g*

Indeed the unused files made it seem like she found some enjoyment out of it. But since those files were cut and the plot completely reworked they really no longer hold any meaning. Leftover files like this are found all the time, usually amounting to nothing in the long run.

What they went with she sounds completely the opposite concerning the job. You can hear it in her voice many times that she does not enjoy what she is doing and would very much like to go with Shepard again.

While what we ended up with is still no where near what I wanted, its far better than what they had originally planned.

I think it's likely that Liara would like the knowledge aspect of her work, due to her being a scientist and an archaeologist, but I think that's where her enjoyment stops, IMO. She'd much more prefer to go with Shepard, and be with him/her. She absolutely hates the threatening and strong-arming aspect of the job, and that is evident in how she acts in-game.

I still wonder what Liara's reaction would be to the connection between the Collectors and the Protheans. That would definitely be some information she would enjoy finding out about. BW seriously messed up not letting us tell her about it. :(

I also asked myself how she would have reacted. I mean, she is stil an archeologist besides her "new business".
*dream* I'd still hope that we could tell her in a future DLC or ME3 *wakes up*

I think she'd find it fascinating. The Prothean extinction is her expertise, and she's got virtually all the answers there in front of her. Imagine all the studying she'd want to do! :D

With the amount of complaints the have been about Liara's scenes in ME2, they really can't avoid rectifying them in ME2. Can't wait until we get Liara's DLC, I just want more dialogue with her, romantic or otherwise!
