A conspiritorial investigation plot element would make an interesting twist for Mass Effect 3, I think.

To be honest. I'll think the whole "Shepard declared rouge" should have been used in ME2. ME3 needs to conclude the reaper plot after all, and spending too much time playing cops and robbers in citidal space will distract from that.

That is of course saying, they couldn't tie that into the main plot of the Reapers "finding another way". And Shepard very nearly did get declared rogue by the Council, and he/she is still disassociated from them at best.

To get back to topic: Do you think Liara will be one of the starting squadmates in ME3 (assuming we get seperated from the ME2 team) or will she have to be recruited? And if so what would her recruitment mission be?

Personally, I would like it to be a raid on one the shadowbroker's possible safehouses, or if the shadow broker plot will be resolved in DLC. Then perhaps Ilos?

I really do think that Liara's recruitment mission will be very interesting...also, how her business and financial power will play into the fact that Shepard will be in desperate need for resources if he/she leaves Cerberus...

While she could be your intelligence source. I sincerly hope she isn't, beside Bioware should use one their big VA for that instead. I would much rather have Anderson, Admiral Hackett or TIM brief me on the mission. Mostly because they all have awe inspiring voices. Also if Liara was the one giving info, she wouldn't be a squadmate.

Talking of voice actors. Anybody else hope that Morgan Freeman will voice the main villain in ME3?

Nice edit there, the only think I dislike is the way Liara talks, for instance the "Honey", that isn't the way Liara would communicate.

For the same reason you had to gain Garrus' and Tali's? I don't think the loyalty mechanic will be back though. I expect ME3 to be far more plot focused.

I hope you are right....the loyalty thing was cute the first time they did it, but I don't want to have to do it again.
