Why would Bioware care about us when they have the new shooter fans to care about?
But but, CHud said we will get story-bridging DLC. STORY!!!!!!!!!

I agree with your characterization of Liara, I just don't think the Shep/Liara relationship has hit that point yet. They didn't spend that much time together before the Normandy went kablooey. Shepard dies, comes back, and both of their minds are focused on other things that are not the relationship, atm.
You don't think she'd want to at least talk about it prior to committing to the relationship, though? Especially if it's bothering her?
Even though children or anything like that are far away from their thoughts at that time, I think Liara would still want to talk about it, if she fears that she has the AY gene.

I just think she would have had other more pressing concerns at that time....Saren, the geth, etc.

That's very true.
I think my original point was that I didn't think Liara was aware of the existence of the AY during the events of ME1 but that got lost somewhere.

I think you might be underestimating how much of ME2 is going to effect ME3, but as for the DLC, of course it's not going to effect anything in ME3. It's DLC. People might have never bought it. Thus, it'll never have a huge impact.

I'm sure if you asked him, Chud (hehe) would say ME2 had the best story BioWare ever did.

I realize I'm in the minority here, but I don't think Shepard/Liara (or Liara/any human we've met) will produce children. The codex gives the impression that only matrons can have children. While Liara could choose to enter that stage early, it would be very early indeed.
I don't think they will go the 'no baby' route (they will retcon it if needed), as most seem to want Liara/Shepard babies.
Personally, I wouldn't mind. They could adopt children if they wanted to start a family.
One thing that interests me about the Talimance is that not only is it interspecies, but Shepard and Tali cannot produce children by natural means (at least, I hope they don't pull a reton here!) and must adopt if they want to go the whole nuclear family route. I think that is very poignant and adds some depth to the Talimance.

But the people that made it thought it was so, so good... until months later, after they finished the film. Then they start being a little more honest.

Makes me wonder if the consequence of having a child at that aged, meant death for Liara from child birth.

It's not just the Talimance. It's any of the Shep/alien pairings. Liara's the only one with even the possibility of fertility.I could see them adopting. Personally, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for no epilogue so I can make up my own happy ending.
Yeah, I forgot about the maliens. Whoops! Thane already has a child to 'raise' (though he is an adult), so Shepard could act as another parent. They could always increase the size of the family, though I wonder what Kolyat would think of his father adopting a child...would he feel slighted that Thane spends the time with the new child that he didn't spend with Kolyat? Garrus and Shepard would have to also go the adoption route.

Not going to happen. It's not possible in the Tali/Garrus romance (and whatever other human-alien romances they might come up with for ME 3), so it won't happen in any romance.

If Thane and Shepard survive, most liekly she would become a step mother for Koylat.

Plus, aren't asari already sexually mature and developed whilst still in the Maiden stage? Doesn't that mean that logically they will be able to mother their own children too?

I think so as well, though the last time I was looking in the Tali thread, they wanted Mordin to clone them a Shepard/Tali baby.
Anyways, like someone once said, every relationship is about sacrifice, and what you're willing to sacrifice to prove your love, and be with the one you love. In Tali's case, it's a great deal of sacrifice.

Something special, and unique. Maybe multiple endings dictated by dialogue with Liara in ME3?

I hope you are right and that they leave the baby thing out of the romance epilogue so as to not slight Tali/Garrus/Thane romancers. Even with a human pairing, maybe an individual player doesn't want children for their Shepard? I hope they leave things like this open to interpretation, including Liara and Shepards children (or no children).

I do hope we are rewarded in the romance epilogue for staying faithful to Liara across the trilogy, though.

I hope that would affect content in the game and not just the romance epilogue. I think vague is better for the epilogue.
