That picture makes me sad, though, as it reminds me of Benezia's death. Little Liara in the picture looks sad, like she's missing her mommy.

I hope that would affect content in the game and not just the romance epilogue.  I think vague is better for the epilogue.

Of course, I'm just thinking in terms of expressing your desire as to where the future of your relationship is going to Liara throughout the game, and then the romance epilogue reflecting that. You can either tell Liara that you want to continue fighting, or perhaps start a family. You would then receive that ending.

When Benezia utters that line to Liara, you get the impression that she used to say that to her every single night to tuck her into bed when Liara was a little girl.

Benezia then tragically dies....it's so sad! Imagine Liara then thinking back to her childhood, and being safe at her loving mother's side!

It's not just the Talimance. It's any of the Shep/alien pairings. Liara's the only one with even the possibility of fertility.I could see them adopting. Personally, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for no epilogue so I can make up my own happy ending.

Can't you make up you're own ending in your head, if you don't like what the epilogue says?

They may do something like this, or not.  I'd prefer it if I could just make up my Shepard's and Liara's final romance canon in my head.  With the way you suggested, I might pick something during dialog with Liara  than I'm not quite happy with when the epilogue comes.

I also think ME3 should spend more time on dealing with the Liara/Shepard relationship in the present, and not so much in worrying about the future.

I think you can.  The only bad thing would be when you interact with other Liarasexuals on the social site and they tell you that your interpretation is wrong because it's not canon.  This would bother some people, not others.

That's true. If they don't have the romance reconciled in the Liara DLC, then both Shepard and Liara have alot to resolve in ME3. They need to open their hearts to each other, and help to reaffirm their love for each other.

What I'd like is if the ME3 Liara romance path showcases the development and deepening of their love into a true spiritual bond, of the pair of them truly becoming bondmates.

Good question. Why do you need to "hope" for the game not to have an epilogue? Just ignore what the game says. It's the last game with Shepard and Liara anyway, no need to worry about any canon.

I for one do exactly that with DA. The actual epilogues are a joke, so I just pretend my own version happened. But they're still better than having no epilogues at all, I think.

The best thing of course would be several different, properly written and sufficiently detailed epilogues to choose from. I for one wouldn't care if they were just text boxes.

It's just one phrase of many used to describe fans of Liara.  It's the one I happen to like the most.

The codex is somewhat vague regarding what can take place when regarding Asari stages leaving open the possibility of a young Asari giving birth. Unlikely as it seems if you consider Liara's description of the nature of Asari relationships she provides in ME1 the idea of her having a child with Shepard is not beyond the scope of possibility and furthermore, far reaching as it seems, may have already happened accounting for her stationary position on Illium and hints about her father at the Illium bar. Yes it is far fetched but not impossible if BW would want to proceed in that direction.

Codex again is vague about ADY but the impression I got was that the genitic anomality occured between two Asari, a pureblood offspring so an ADY wouldn't happen between Liara and Shepard or so it would seem and I think that if Liara was an ADY then Shepard would have been toast in ME1.

Codex did leave me with a question though about Asari in general because it points out that purebloods have no facial markings as an identifying charasteristic suggesting that those Asari with markings have them because of their non Asari parent which would mean that one may be able to discern the race of their non Asari parent from facial markings. Just a curiosity though but when I began to look carefully at various Asari I noticed that there were a lot of Asari with no markings at all so are purebloods more common than suggested or was this an artist oversight ?

Hello once again. I have started my playthrough with which I intend to go through with the Liara romance; Tehran Shepard, a Spacer and War Hero, he is a Prothean nerd at heart with a weakness for scientists. Also, ethnicities, he has dem. Hopefully I will not miss crucial character-developing conversations and garner the wrong impression of the Shepard/Liara relationship as I have done in the past from the observer's viewpoint.

However, all truths be told, even if my position significantly changes in Liara's favor (we're already on good terms, but if I come to like her even more than I currently do), I'm not sure if I'll be interested in posting here. There seems to be a lot of prevalent gender politics and reactionism among regular contributors and I don't want to enter into that. You might just have to count me as a "distance supporter".

I don't think Bw intends to expand on the sci-fi elements. Including Asari biology. Take the bachelor party conversation, for example. Sure, ti was funny. But it makes no sense, and doesn't fit with what they presented so far.

I agree.  I think we've heard it all.

I would like for them to release a lore book, however :D
