One part that I hated was Liara making that sneering, sarcastic "Afterlife" joke after killing that batarian that attempted to rape her.

Seriously, what the hell?

Why do you hate it? It's a bad joke, yes, but I think I can find a worse line in that comic.

Because it's so monstrously OOC for Liara, that's why. She doesn't trvialise or make jokes about death in that manner.

I mean, at least she didn't say something as bad as, "What? Don't you Batarians enjoy PAIN!" (rolls eyes)

Anyways, I'm reading that thread, and I have to say LET, Liara does have feelings for Feron. It's not just that he sacrificed himself. She cares about him as a friend.

Really? They rammed it down our throats throughout all four issues that she doesn't like him at all on a personal level.

Hell, she even said that she wanted to kill him in issue 4. Ugh, another line that I hated and that was horribly OOC.

That's because she didn't truly know him. She then realised he was doing everything for a reason. And that he's sorry she can't trust him. You didn't see Star Wars I take it?

What does that have to do with it?

Even after that small scene in which she shows compassion for him, she again expresses mistrust for him and his actions. I can't remember the exact line, but it's something about Liara worrying of he'll betray her again or something.

To be honest I took one look at the comic preview some time ago and thought that the art sucked and therefore lost interest.

Yeah, and then he sacrificed himself. She then realizes she could have trusted him, but it's too late now, because she left him to die. Also, Feron didn't know her in the beginning, so he was simply using her to get the Shadow Broker to trust him (or so he thought). But then he starts to care for her, since this is the first time he's ever worked with a partner.

Think Han Solo and Leia. Leia hates his guts, and he hates her, but they start to like each other. They continue this for 2 movies. Now, Feron and Liara don't fall in love, but she realizes in the end that she could have trusted him, and considers him a friend that needs to be saved.

You've just proven my exact point, that it was survivor's guilt. She only shows a modicum of care for him after she leaves him behind and he karks it? That's exactly what I was saying.

I agree with TMA on this one. Liara definitely likes the guy on some level, or she wouldn't be wasting her time trying to possibly save him.

Not necessarily. Survivor's guilt can be a powerful emotion.

Liara is a very compassionate and empathetic person, though.  I think she slowly came to appreciate Feron as a person over the course of the few weeks they worked together.  I think this would happen with her if  forced to be around someone day and night, even she initially has a low opinion of them.  For example, we see that she expresses sympathy for Saren late in ME1, even though she initially thought of him as nothing but a 'turian bastard'.

I think it's more than just survivor's guilt (though that may be part of it).

The only problem I see with this, J, is that it would've been detailed and displayed as the comic progressed. As it stands, though, it still shows her mistrusting him and doubting his actions right up until he goes to confront Tazzik, literally just before she leaves him behind. As she still hates him immdiately prior to that, and no friendship chemistry develops between them throughout the series run, I'm inclined to believe that survivor's guilt was the trigger. You don't go from threatening to kill someone to then being their friend in just a few short minutes. Survivor's guilt and leaving him behind was the trigger for this.

In ME2, the term "friend" was only used for convenience, and it best fit without revealing Feron's name.

We stays behind, that's all we know. The players and Liara have no clue if he's still alive or ead.
