No.  Why would Shepard?  I'd think you'd want the Shadow Broker dead as well for what he did.  Plus, why can't Liara have goals and desires?  Tali doesn't come with you on Freedom's Progress because she has stuff to do for the Migrant Fleet that she feels is important.  Garrus only gives up hunting down mercenaries because half his head gets blown off and you lug him off to the Normandy.  Wrex sits around on Tuchanka playing Conan.  Ashley and Kaiden are doing what they think is important with helping Anderson and the Alliance.

I doubt you would have to kill her in any scenario. I think it's more likely that the Paragon option would have you convince her revenge isn't worth it, while the renegade option would encourage vengeance.

You know, this is the first time in my life I have ever talked on an online fourm.
Usually if I don't enjoy a game I just say to myself, "Oh well, I'll make a better choice next time".

It is amazing how one character can develop your entire feelings on a video game.
I have honestly never cared about what happens in a video game to much before Liara.
I mean, I can get immersed into the world, but I never truly cared.
Even as an example, Fallout 3, it was a sad ending (and a bit disappointing) without Broken Steel, but I got over it pretty quickly.
Fallout 3 is obviously not the only other RPG I have played, but I don't want to spend an hour writing about them (this is about my love for Liara!).

Heh, I actually thought I was the only Liara fanatic out there when I was playing ME1.
Basically, I am saying that I think Liara is the best character I have ever seen and will see (I don't know what other games you guys have played, but I think most or some of you would agree) and I love her very, very much (fanatically). <3<3:wub::wub:<3<3:wub::wub:
There is more Liara to come, fear not!

Its not unlikely that they gutted the Liara stuff towards the end of development and, with the comics coming out, didn't have time to go back in and do her justice. I buy that possibility. I think it occured in part because, as Nozy says, they made some poor choices storywise, at least from my point of view. But yeah, they may not have been really happy with it.

I also agree that Liara is definitely ingrained in the ME universe. Normally I'd say that all but guarantees her inclusion in ME3 and in a substantial role...but then again I would have thought the same for ME2. So we'll see. I'm not sure either way.

I'm not fearing -- just ficcing to get through the wait.  Actually, honestly, everyone of us should do that, even if we never post it -- it allows such important internal monologues as "For you, Liara?  I'd fight a Thresher Maw naked with a combat knife."  Which I think I would

It's the same for me.  I read a lot of the old forums after playing ME1, but never really felt obligated to comment on anything.  Then I got Dragon Age: Origins and had to make this account, but never felt motivated enough to bother with any of the social network stuff or even post on anything.

Then after playing ME2 and having my expectations severely not met, I started channeling Udina "This is an outrage!" over the handling of Liara.  So it was nice seeing other people sharing my frustrations, sharing their speculations, and sharing their hopes for the future.

Well I just personally find the whole concept of "Liara isn't doing what you think she should do, so beat her until she comes around." to be repulsively offensive on so many levels.

I never have contributed on a forum this much myself, but that is not a good thing, I am here because I am exremely disappointed with many of the story aspect's of ME2, Liara being one of the biggest.

I don't think he was advocating that. I read his post as more "Will we have to save Liara from herself if vengeance becomes all consuming", more like restraining her, not actually trying to hurt her. In any event, I think that's a pretty unlikely scenario. I'd be willing to wager good money that when you actually confront the Shadow Broker there will be a persuade check if you want to turn Liara from the path of vengeance, neutral is to allow her to go through with it, renegade would actively encourage revenge.

I don't think he was either, I was just pointing out that beating up a friend/lover because they're doing something you don't think they should be doing isn't really healthy in any sense.
I don't even know if we'll have those options, or if they'd matter anyway when you look at stuff already in the game like Jacob's father or Garrus's revenge.  I actually want to kill the Shadow Broker myself for trying to sell me and putting sweet Liara through the trouble of getting my carcass back.  So I'll admit some bias towards a preferred resolution to that situation.

Yeah, normally I'm pretty heavily paragon, but it'll take some crazy reveal to make me want to spare the Shadow Broker's life. He/She/It seems pretty irredeemable at this point.

I just finished Liara's mission on Illium. That entire dialogue wheel is glitched. Once you click on Liara's needs option everything goes away..the SB bit, and also the don't give into temptation bit. At this point I'm firmly convinced it wasn't a bad build or set-up...it has to be a glitch or bug.

Yep. Definitely no reason to fear.
I would also fight a Thresher Maw in the nude (I would try and sneak some pants in with me if I could, lol) with a knife for Liara as well .
I have honestly never tried my hand at creative writing, maybe I will try though (Liara is the only reason I would do it. And that is a very, very good reason<3). It would probably be the corniest, lovey-dovey stuff you would ever read though, lol.
Although, when it involves Liara, it can never be lovey-dovey enough!

I dunno about that, but now we have a concept for the Grunt's Shore Leave DLC.

We have a lot in common, I feel the same way. Liara is a phenomenon to me. I have never felt so much for a game character in my entire life, and on a totally transparent note, it scares me. I have fully succumb to Nerd-dom.
I am literally in love with a game character...

I think I need to get a poster of Liara the size of a full bedroom wall and just hang it up. This would bring a smile to me everytime I enter the room.

Yeah, I never thought it was even possible to be completely in love with a video game character.
As I said, before Liara, I didn't know what truly caring about a video game character was.
If it wasn't for Liara, the events in ME wouldn't have nearly as great of an emotional impact on me.
Well, Liara definitely changed that. I will always love her with all my heart! <3
Just talking and thinking about her right now makes me happy beyond belief, it is amazing!
I still can't believe it myself.

After Liara and knowing how much I love her, the interior of my dream house would consist of what I am about to write.

I think I would wallpaper my whole house with pictures of Liara, maybe get some Liara knick-knacks for the shelves and some larger statues for around the house.
I would definitely get a custom made bedset with her on it.
I would love to have a pillowcase with her face on it, seeing Liara right before you got to sleep and when you wake up in the morning would make me so happy.
Maybe get a Liara carpet, I would love that. Although it would make walking around the house difficult because I could never step on that beautiful face, lol.
I would frame several great pictures of Liara (all pictures of Liara are beautiful) and hang them up on a wall.
I like your idea, I would also put a gigantic poster of Liara up.
Heh, I am definitely a massive Liara fanatic.

Yeah, I finally know what Nerd-dom is because of Liara as well. Sometimes it can be scary, but I have accepted it.
I just love Liara so, so much! <3<3

I normally don't obsess over a videogame character either. I've liked a lot of characters but nothing comes close to my obsession with Liara. What can I say, she's Liara. Naturally any sane person would like her.

If I had photoshop I'd clean up the image and make it fade better, but it would be cool if someone did an image like this, but cleaned it up...I have limited paint skills and tried to get brush strokes, but the colors are somewhat off...

Looking at the hidden dialogue again you basically have Liara ascend to the position of the Shadow Broker. Her whole logic is suspect though as you can destroy the Collectors without ANY input at all from her. Either they are rewriting the story as they go (my assumption as it seems they did not like their original crack at Liara's role) or the DLC is still going to make people pissed off.

Well in the worst case they can still go through with what was in cut files just with new lines, but then the question comes up whats the point,as you said we dont need the Shadow Brokers data to kill the collectors, even this whole line about why the collectors wanted Shepards body, that is in the cut files would have not been of any help.
Personally I wouldnt mind the Shadow Broker getting away again in case of a DLC,partialy because I just dont see how you can casually walk into a base and gun down one of the most evasive persons in the galaxy.
