I love all the wonder Liara has when she is on the Citidel!
Yeah, that's absolutely adorable! That amazed, wide eyed wonder and excitement and wonder at viewing what she thinks is Prothean technology and architecture is so endearing. I love it!

Haha, I can't say no, when she asks me to do anything. Most of my major decisions were based on what she says.
Liara: Save the Rachni Shepard.
Shepard: You bet, Liara.
Liara: Save the council Shepard.
Shepard: Done, anything else Liara?
Liara: Lets go shoe shopping, Shepard!
Shepard: Anything for you Liara!

I'll think saving the Rachni queen is the only place where I openly disagreed with Liara. Then I proceeded to fry that stupid bug.
Worst part of it is when Shepard has that stupid "HURH HURH ME LIKES KILLING BUGS" face.

Yeah, I was half joking. I always save them mostly because, from my RPing perspective, I would never doom an entire species to extinction (no matter how dangerous) IRL. So, why would I do it in a game?

I can understand why some people might save the queen (even through I think it's stupid since you'r playing with fire) but I hate how Bioware tried to paint the renegade decision as Shepard just killing the queen for the sake of his own sadistic pleasure, which goes completly against the reason i killed it (too much of a risk).
I also really hoped that saving the queen was the paragon decision which will blow up in your face. But since that isn't the case, let's hope destroying the collector base will handicap us in the third game.
Back to Liara: Anybody got a happy Liara picture? I just got the best possible result in my danish exam!

There you go and congrats :-)
btw. I saved the Queen because I thought I'd get a fleet to help me in return - not because I wanted to save a species. I also kept the base.

I would have liked if we were able to save Benezia insted, after all Shiala have recovered from the indoctrination Benezia could do the same.
I think the Thorian cured Sovereign's indoctrination by overwriting it with it's own indoctrination. After the Thorian died Shiala's mind was her own again.

That would be nice. I'd love nothing more than to save Benezia. I'd hate to have to put someone I cared about through something like that. To make matters worse Liara had to help kill her. Thats a lot of grief to put on someone. Its definitley something I would have liked to avoid, thats for sure.

Thank you!
Also one last thing thats been bugging me eversince I played ME1.
Why is killing the brainwashed Salarians a renegade action? I'm rather be shot than being brainwashed. I also hate Shepard reason if you don't have Tali and Liara in the squad (the reason is "I don't leave loose ends"?? WTF do you mean Shepard! They are brainwashed FFS!).
Atleast when you have Liara and Tali it goes like this.
Shepard: Better to die than live like this.
Liara : Will you just kill them where they stand?!
Tali : It's what I would want.

Maybe that's the reason but the ways the Thorian and Sovereign control minds are diferent so I think that Shiala recovered because she have been distant from Sovereign for a long time.

I agree, it's more of a Paragon option, imo, to end their suffering. Wrex says something similar to what Tali says appearantly (never took her with me).Lizardviking wrote...

Yes. That's what I thought too. Also to try make this topic slight Liara-relevent. I know Liara in ME1 is very compassionate, merciful, idealistic and such. But why does she disaprove of me mercy-killing the the indoctrinated salarians?

So true. I doubt Liara had many people as close to her as her mother. A very sad situation indeed.

It may have more to do with how the killing is done. Example: She disaproves of gunning down the salarians who are arguably still conscious. But she approves of "pulling the plug", thus killing the brain dead guy, who is in a coma aboard the drifting frieghter. The former is much more violent and abrasive, while the latter is more about compassion toward the person.Lizardviking wrote...

Maybe we'll get a Shepard - Liara - Hannah Shepard (spacer background) confrontation in ME3^_^
I think it would make a great scene! Hopefully Hannah will accept the fact that her grandchildren will be blue.

I really hope that's gonna happen. I was hoping for a conversation with Hannah in ME2.....and now ME3, but it's the last game that's supposed to conclude everything so it has to happen, right?Barquiel wrote...

Then again, maybe they met in the 2 years and they got to know each other while Shepard was gone....
Also - I want to include a conversation with Hannah in my fanfic. (just btw^^)

I imagine they met eachother to Shepard's funeral. Perhaps Hannah already knew the rumors surrounding Shepard and Liara.
