Wouldn't that be cool?  Maybe that's how you recruit her in ME3.  You're in Afterlife, and you notice her from across the room.  She tries to sneak away, but you catch up to her.

"Liara? What are you doing here?"

Won't happen, obviously.  But it's an interesting thought, IMO.

I love the idea of Liara's ME3 introduction being that she saves Shepard's backside when the Commander is under heavy fire. Liara arrives just in the nick of time to help Shepard overcome the enemy with her biotics. I'd love that!

Liara and Kaidan together, happy and relieved that Shepard is alive!

He doesn't need support for any of his arguments 'cause he's Casey Hudson.

If given the opportunity in ME3 to have an influence over Liara's alignment, which I fully expect to be the case, will any of you encourage Liara to go more Renegade and for her to adopt her more ruthless facade as her personality?

It'd be an interesting choice to make for Renegade Shepards.

My Shepard is Paragade.   I will pick whichever path I think is better handled in game.

No. At least it wouldn't be my canon. I would certainly be interested to see the difference at some point though.

I'd find it interesting for the sake of morbid curiousity. I don't think it's something I'll ever do with either my Paragon or Renegon Shepards, but I'd still want to see what a Renegade Liara is like.

That actually surprises me, J. So you wouldn't have Rachel influence Liara's alignment from a RP perspective, and base it upon what Rachel herself thinks is best for Liara, but more from a meta perspective based on which path you think is handled better? Huh.

I know you're worried that the Paragon path will be that Liara becomes very emotionally needy and dependant, and that she has to be "saved" by Shepard. I worry about that too, and I hope they never do something like that. It's insulting to Liara's character.

Yeah, that's what I worry about....as long as they don't pull some crap like that, I won't metagame it.

I fully expect this, too and I will defninately do this at some point........probably  even with my main at my first pt of ME3. But I will look at the entire situation we're in at the point of the choice and think about the consequences my decision would have, before I make the choice (that's just for my main though).

As long as the Paragon path reiterates Liara's emotional strength, and has her retain her assertiveness and independence, then I think I will select that every single time. Have Liara come to terms with her guilt and grief, with Shepard's help, but don't have her become wholly dependant on Shepard's help. Have her retain her own strength and capability.

Yes, Liara being actually dependant on Shepard would be very OOC and ridiculous. She's very strong and fragile at the same time, I think. We just need to  make her recognise her own strength. I think she uses this strength already, but doesn't really notice it because of her grief and guilt. We need to help her come in terms with it like you said LET, but that shouldn't make her dependant on Shep.

Also - if you want I can post screens after ME3 with evil Liara at my side ruling the galaxy with me *megalomaniac-lol*

Those are my thoughts exactly.  If 'Renegade Liara' is the only means to get strong and independent Liara, then I will select that option.

I love the idea of being able to choose how Liara acts through your choices in ME3, and I'm actually kinda sure they'll use it.

By the way, I disapprove of being able to choose Liara as a romance option in ME3 without doing so in the previous games (or not having played the previous games at all).

I don't know if I'd like either, to be honest. Whilst I'd absolutely despise a Liara that's emotionally weak and needy, I wouldn't really like a Renegade Liara either.

I guess I'd opt for the latter. I don't want anything that's insulting to Liara's character.

My Shepard is 95% paragon, so if there's an oppurtunity to influence Liara's direction, I'll be pushing her towards paragon as hard as I can.

If it in anyway compromises or limits Liara's romance in ME3 for those of us who remained faithful, then I agree with this 100%
