Or maybe if the SB is working for the reapers (through indoctrination or otherwise) they could be baiting Liara to find the SB safehouse, because they know that once that happens. Shepard will be at Liara side, making it the perfect oppertunity to re-claim Shepard again.

So basicly when Liara and Shepard is deep inside the SB main base, they will be surrounded by the reapers evil minnions. Ending with Shepard getting captured, and Liara barely escaping. Harbinger will taunt Liara. Thanking her for playing her role perfectly in their grand scheme.

Would be ironic for the person to rescue Shepard from the reapers, to be the one handing him to them later.

Ooo! That would be something. Definitely stage-setting for ME3. And it would follow in the grand tradition of trilogies; first one is pretty much standalone, second one ends with cliffhanger for the third installment.

What did you do?

I asked you first what you did but here's my answer.  I didn't out him to the Quarians.  Tali is Shepard's friend.  They are like sisters.  I'm not going to be an a-hole to her, even though what her father did wasn't right.  Friendship and trust counts a whole lot more to me.

The same goes for Liara.  It all comes down to trust.  I see the visible pain on her face and when she asks me to help her take down the Shadowbroker's agent, you better believe I'm going to do it.

Get off of Liara's back.  She did a lot for you and only wants your assistance.  I don't understand why you are painting her as something evil when she isn't.

Thank you. I did the same thing. I'm simply saying why I don't think I can trust Liara, because I felt like I couldn't if she's still willing to go that far. I can't change how i felt.

So, helping Tali by lying to cover for her father (who did some bad bad stuff) isn't against your characters belief system, but helping Liara is?  I don't see how it's very different.

It would undoubtly break Liara down . When she realises that her vendetta led to loss of the one she wanted to protect and seek vengance for.

And the rest of the team would probably blame her too. Liara would never be the same.

Ouch, this is getting downright nasty to contemplate.

That sounds very compelling, Lizard, but like you said it would leave Liara absolutely distraught, and absolutely emotionally destroy her. Yet more guilt to pile on top of her existing pain? The poor girl has suffered enough.

Some people blindly trusted her from beginning to end, because they simply do trust her, and because they love her.

Why not?

After the Normandy was destroyed, Liara is the only one who doesn't give up on Shepard  (Garrus thought it's a better idea to kill some mercs on Omega).
She became an information broker to rescue Feron (who helped her to save Shepards body). She is obviously very loyal.

I told what's his name about it after the trail, so he knew what happened, without betraying Tali.

Guys, it's just my opinion of that scene. I can explain everything, but at the end of the day, why can't we just start talking about Liara? My opinion isn't worth squat. Seriously.

true art is angsty LES! Your obviously not the sophisticated type.

Jokes aside. Lets face it people. Bioware will presumebly want to reset Shepard (again) and perhaps in a dramatic fashion  like in ME2. And what better way to do that than have Shepard being captured and being "upgraded" by the reapers. Also the Liara romance will then be about granting her the ability to forgive herself for all she has done, something I doubt she have.

Lying for Tali is much, much worse than helping Liara. Liara is trying to save someone and bring down a shadowy organization.

Tali is simply being insanely selfish and childish. You can see that when you tell the quarians what was going on. She cries and whines about how she "needed a friend" back at the trial... Well, **** you, Tali, that wasn't about you. You don't always get what you want just because you want it. Lying for her is just enabling her naive, selfish goals. She needs to grow up and the quarians need to know what their people are up to behind their backs.

Helping Liara is just gathering information AND saving the life of an innocent while exposing her secretary. That's not evil. But covering up war crimes from a species' ruling power because some childish git doesn't want her daddy's reputation tarnished?

:P

I agree that angst is good, and I do like it, but I wonder if having Liara endure something like that is possibly taking her suffering a step too far. There's only so much I want to see Liara suffer with, before I feel it's just dumping crap on her in order to have her suffer as much as possible. I don't want her to be pained to that extent, as it's perhaps a little exaggerrated.

Just saying. I don't want Liara to suffer quite that much. Hell, ME2 was bad enough!

I like angst too. But excessive suffering for Liara makes me feel sad. :'-(

On the other hand, it's the perfect opportunity to demonstrate Liara's incredible emotional resilience and strength, and show just how much of a strong person she is, especially if she again resolves to put things right.

Remember how nobody hated Joker for getting Shepard killed. <_< So my bet everyone will go easy on Liara.

Somebody should write a fanfic that takes place  on the ice planet the SR-1 survivors landed on. Point of view should be from Joker, and hopefully Liara, Tali and the Vimire survivor will shred him apart (not litteraly of course).
