The GDC lasts for a week doesn't it?  We'll probably have to wait until the last day of the show to hear anything about ME2 DLC.

I was too!  I wanted a Liara flashback.

The second time I played through the opening Normandy crash scene, I stood by the med-bay door and stared at it for 2 minutes.  I love that door!

Heh, I think I'll do that too whenever I get around to a second ME2 playthrough.

What would've also been cool is if you got audio flashbacks too, similar to in Metal Gear Solid 4 when Snake returns to Shadow Moses Island.

For example, if you romanced Liara you'd get an audio flashback of her saying "I have never been more sure of anything in my life." Would've been very poignant.

On a related note, was anyone else disappointed that we couldn't get into the part of the Normandy where Liara used to sit on her computer in the Med Bay? I wanted to go there and reminisce, but no dice. Exploring the wreckage of the Normandy was quite melancholic for me, was thinking about Liara alot as I was doing it. :/

I was actually hoping to be able to bring like Garrus and Tali, or even Joker back down to the wreckage to sift through the debris and remanise about the 'good ol days.'

Okay, back to discussion. Recently played the Normandy crash site DLC again. I think we can all agree that the level design is very nice, while the content is rather underwhelming. Could it be that it was initially created for the cut part where Liara was going to find Shepard's body?

I was expecting a Liara flashback. I really wish they would have added that in.

Squad banter was almost non-existant in ME2. There was so much lacking in that department.

Yeah the whole wreckage was quite weak,it could have been very emotional, since its more or less a direct confrontation with his/her death for Shepard, but then again you cant expect too much from DLC.

As for Liara's DLC, I'd imagine we'd hear something when either the comic concludes or at a trade show like GDC or even E3. That is, if it is more than just the cut out quests that were part of ME 2 just being restored, though I imagine they rewrote them as most people will be playing them AFTER the Collectors and Liara's whole "I can give you important Collector info!!!" will be irrelevent...

I think there's a decent shot at us hearing something during E3. E3 tends to have a lot of big revealings from companies.

It was really lame.  I know that it is expensive to have voice actors, but looking at Dragon Age half the fun was replaying the game with different characters to see their reactions and what they had to say to each quest.  More than that, characters would actually react to your choices.  Several times members of your team would attack you or leave if you made bad decisions.

Yeah, it makes you wonder why some of the crew members in ME2 stick around with renegade shep, let alone become loyal to him/her. Some stuff is just over the top. I liked renegade from ME1 better. It wasn't so black and white.

I love Dragon Age and as much as I'd like to think squad interaction would improve for ME 3, we have to realize they are different games, different teams, for different audiences (though DA is ultimately selling well, not 2million in a week well).

Still, I hope the writers for ME are cracking at some satisfying endings for each character. The fact is this may be the last time we hear from ANY of them, and for Shepard it is surely the last game he/she will play a role. To send this series off with Bioware's typical "text epilogue" after what could be five years of waiting (ME 1 release - 2012) would be lame.

Honestly, hiring the voice actors back is nothing compared to how much money they make off of the game itself.
I am sure EA doesn't give a crap what BioWare does in a game, they just want a guarantee they will get paid.
Which is has the possibility of being a good thing if BioWare wants to please us.

I still think that BioWare tried to appeal to the shooter crowd in the actual game, but will give us gamers who want real depth (and more Liara!) what we want in DLC.
The shooter crowd is already back playing CoD and waiting for Halo: Reach (I feel dirty when I say those names), there is no reason to try to get them back with DLC.
We RPG gamers and loyal BioWare customers are their money now.
Almost anyone who played ME1and enjoyed it should buy most of the DLC they put out. There are a lot of people who enjoyed it.

Mark Meer, Jennifer Hale and Ali Hillis may have recorded their VA at the same time as all other ME2 voicework if the Liara DLC was made concurrently to the rest of the game.

Which could very well be what they did.
There is too much missing from the scene (mostly on Shepard's part. Goddamn ******, comfort Liara!) for it not to be noticed or planned ahead of time for the sake of DLC.
The Liara reunion is impossible to be a developer oversight. It is not as if she is an unimportant character like Conrad, she has her own comic book series for goodness sake.
I am sure even one of the test players for ME2 who romanced Liara in ME1 would even notice it and bring it up.
It is impossible to not love Liara!<3

How DARE you say Conrad Verner is an unimportant character!!! He is critical to the plot of ME 3...

Nah, he's correct. It is the path of financial logic they're walking (almost exclusively now, whereas back in the days they also cared a great deal about quality and polish).

That said, I disagree about the presumption. I think the shooter crowd will buy any DLC that gives them a new weapon and a few levels to shoot stuff. It's not as you'd need to play through the whole game again, guess why they put in the chance to continue playing after the finale. To let you experience what the galaxy has to say about your triumph in saving countless lives? Good luck finding someone who noticed.

Look, the devs want to shove Liara hate into this thread!  social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/103/index/689673&lf=8

<_<

In regards to NPC interaction ME2 is indeed poor.  I'm currently replaying Jade Empire and even NPCs that don't have dialog trees and were just added make the world seem to have people in it have 3-4 unique sentences each.

Also, when we recruited Legion, how did you feel upon entering the area on the new Normandy which was the same as where Liara was on the old ship? Felt pretty sad, the place where Liara used to sit has been replaced by a ladder! I missed that old door opening, and Liara turning her head, seeing that Shepard was coming and then standing up to greet him/her. Really did feel empty without her.

Yeah I saw that when he locked the thread. It made me very sad he tried to get them to discuss that BS in our thread.
