Of course, Barq! We already know just how much of an assertive and independant character Liara is. She is very much in control of her relationship with Shepard. She'll only meld with Shepard on her own terms, she was the one who initially expressed attraction. Liara is the one who wants to take it slowly. I love that, she's very assertive.
What I'm suggesting though is that Shepard would suggest these alignment shifts to her, and it would be at Liara's own discretion whether she adheres to them and believes what Shepard says. She's not being weak or subservient at all. She's still making decisions about herself on her own terms.
