Liara knows this, and instead resolves to try to make things right.

I agree that Liara is desperate for Shepard to be revived and I also agree that after she handed the body to them even if she was there with the body she would not have much power to alter things, exept for giving cerberus more detailed information about Shepard personality after the melding she would be the person with the best insight on the mater.
The only thing I see that she could do is sabotage the project if cerberus did something that she cosidered inaceptable(control chip) making Shepard return impossible.
The question is would Liara want Shepard alive even being controled by cerberus? Or would she prefer for him to remain dead? I think that although would be extremely hard for her she would never subject Shepard to that.

Probably not, though. Likewise, she also runs the risk of Shepard hating her for handing the corpse over to Cerberus, and fears that. But Liara made her choice. Shepard dead, or alive and possibly hating her? Liara chose the latter. She'd rather have Shepard alive and well, but despising her, than having Shepard dead. It's incredibly sad.
Liara's guilt and fear isn't in question here. She's rather run the risk of all of these things happening to bring her beloved back to life, rather than Shepard staying dead. That's where Liara's inner turmoil and conflict comes from. The source of all of her self-loathing. It's very, very sad, and moving.

I have a feeling that aside from Wrex (who might be indiffrent) that all the ME1 cast would hate and shun her for what she did. Giving their old commander's body over to Cerberus just so they can turn him into some frankenstien monster. Or thats atleast my theory for why she never told anyone else of it.
