TMA, unfortunately these are the lightest screencaps of Liara in her default armour I can find. I've taken them from J's excellent collection of Liara screens, and the only other scene she has taken pictures from with Liara wearing that armour is from the confrontation with Benezia on Noveria, and that scene is extremely dark.

Anybody else love how Liara shrugs her shoulders as she says the line "It's paid the bills since you.....Well"? I just noticed it earlier on today, and I love it!

Why do you love it so much?

Also, one thing that makes me incredibly proud of Liara's fanbase is the fact that we almost completely abandon the use of Sheploo in our fanart and fanfic featuring her. We almost exclusively use custom Shepards, very often female too. I like that, as it showcases creativity and individuality. Plus, I hate Sheploo and he needs to keep his hands off of Liara. IMO, of course.

Crap, Lizard goes to bed just as I'm about to type up my response. I'll post it anyway, and I hope he sees it tomorrow.

Lizard, I think what Liara takes issue with is the callous, crass, brutal and ruthless way in which Shepard executes those salarians. We don't actually know if those salarians were completely braindead either, and may have been partially aware of their surroundings and may have maintained some kind of higher brain function. I believe Paragon Shepard also comments on at least giving the salarians some kind of chance to escape. That's the issue here, Renegade Shepard makes the choice to end their lives, unaware if they're truly braindead or incapable of receiving help until we learn of the true nature of indoctrination later. Jacob was completely vegetative, what amounts to a shell of a body. There was absolutely no life left in that body. The same can't be said for the salarians.

Plus, you know, the fact that Shepard guns them down in cold blood, whilst she respectfully switches off a life support machine for Jacob. I feel there's a fundamental difference there.

First off: Hi everybody!

Now to the discussion.

to start with. Yes it's actuelly made pretty clear that those salarians are completly gone or very close to. They don't respond to Shepard or the squad, nor do they respond when Shepard opens the door (to either kill or release) they just stand there. And while yes, they still have higher brainfunction. To what? Stand up without falling? I'd say that's almost as bad as just being in a vegetative state. You also argue for that Shepard doesn't know yet if the indoctrination can be cured. But remember this. Even if a cure did  excist those salarians are still screwed. Shepard won't have the time to cure them because his on an important mission. Where the longer he waits, the more STG members will perish.

Also. When you decide to shoot them, Shepard acutelly looks pretty sad or atleast takes absoloutly no pleasure in what he does, even through it's the right thing to do.

I don't know. I don't love it that much, but I just really like it. She looks quite nice when she does so.

It's like her shoulder pads on her dress. I like those too!

Yes. Because everyone who uses Sheploo must be some idiot with no creativity at all <_<.

Doesn't matter. At that point, Shepard is still completely ignorant about everything regarding indoctrination, aside from the fact that it seems like an individuals consciousness is still present within the body but cannot control it in any way, like Benezia says on Noveria. It's only when we talk to Rana and Vigil that we begin to develop some understanding as to the effects of indoctrination. Hell, the salarians' may even still be fully conscious and aware of their surroundings inside their own bodies, but unable to control them in a manner similar to Benezia. Shooting and killing them is incredibly presumptuous, crass and callous.

Also, a murderer looks somewhat sad as he stabs an innocent victim. Does that make it okay?

Did a drawing of a female turian.

Gave her chest plates that hinted at the shape of breasts to make it easier for non-fans to understand.

Got ripped to pieces for it.
