I don't necessarily believe the story either, (actually, I'm about 99% certain it is mostly bullsh*t), but it's the first ray of hope I've seen in a long while. Okay, a slither of a ray of hope. ;)

It's no different from hoping to hear something at E3.  Little rays of hope are what we need now...we got nuthin'!!

All I want is for them to freaking confirm it already!!

Just put our minds at ease and let us know more Liara is on the way!

If it makes you feel any better, every time they put up some ME2 news on Facebook, I leave a comment about the Redemption/Liara dlc, asking them to give us some word on it. :P

Fight the good fight, sista!

Speaking of all this, loved your idea on what could happen to Shep in Liara/Shadow Broker dlc. :wizard:

I read your reply...you are right....they probably wouldn't do something like that.  Though, they kind of did this before at the beginning of Baldur's Gate 2, if you've ever played that game.

A few people have speculated that Liara will assume a Citadel Council/TIM type role in ME3, as the main story mission quest giver. They could do that, I suppose.

I'd much, much prefer a squadmate role for Liara, though.

I have, but it's been so long that I forgot how it began. The only thing I remember from either Baulder's Gates games was Imoen sounding absurdly cute and that Leliana (and Liara to a lesser extent) seemed to be updates of this character.  I'll wiki it.  Thanks!

Yep. No smoke without fire, this could be a legitimate leak and....

No, stop! Do not allow myself to get my hopes up! :P

Maybe I’m a bit of a masochist, but  I actually prefer Liara assuming the quest giver role.   Also, you’d really have to work at the romance which could possibly be more satisfying.  Ultimately, I think she will be a squadmate whether she starts out that way or comes on near the end.  Okay, I really want her in my femShep's cabin, but Reapers, end of the galaxy ... might get too sidetracked.

If there is one thing that I do not want to see at the end of Mass Effect 3, it is the following;

The Reapers defeated, Liara did not stay long in the spotlight of galactic society. One night, she simply disappeared [if romanced], leaving Shepard a single Illium rose, and a message promising to return soon, after she 'took care of something'. Underground intelligence suggests she filled the empty void left by the death of the Shadow Broker. However, there were also sightings of an asari matching Liara's description exploring newfound Prothean and Reaper ruins on uncharted worlds. And then there are those who claim to know that Liara shed the now-infamous T'soni name, and began serving as an advisior to a rising political icon in asari space.

[if romanced] Shepard took an extended leave of absence to try and track Liara down. The asari still eludes the Commander, but Shepard will never stop looking. Never stop hoping. And every other week, a single Illium rose makes its way into Commander Shepard's possesion.

Now I am a little depressed...

While I definitely want the squad mate role, I guess I could come to terms with the quest giver role, as long as it's well done.  I agree that it may seem that you have to work harder at the romance and it would be cool to have her in such a position of power (I love women that have power over me!)

I hope she gets to visit the cabin eventually, squad mate or no.

Liara to be next DLC?  With salt firmly pinched, I give you an absolutely "no way to verify" statement from Facebook.

There WILL be a Liara DLC, this will also be the DLC that's going to
bridge the gap between ME 2&ME 3. It will be about Liara and her
dealings with the Shadow Broker hence bridging the gap. The reason how I
know this is because I have a friend who works at EB games/gamestop who
has a friend that works for Bioware. Obviously I know very little of ...
See Morewhat goes on there, but I do know Liara DLC is
going to be the next one out. (there are unused audio files in the game
already). Also adressing why there is so much DLC for ME 2...well
because believe it or not, about 20-25% of the game was cut, these DLC's
are that "restoration". Having said all that, good work Bioware,
delivering premium content and on time:) unlike Valve=P

Here's the link to the original comment.  You'll have to scroll down a bit to read it, the first big chunk of text.

Edit: I don’t necessarily buy this myself, but it is interesting nonetheless.  I would have bet money that the Liara/Shadow Broker dlc would come just shy of ME3’s launch date.  However, IF this is to be believed, then perhaps Liara will take TIM’s place during the gap.  Casey Hudson did say there were going to be more stories as in “more than one” bridging the gap between ME2 and ME3. I know he can stretch the meaning of a word until it almost snaps, but singular and plural are pretty concrete concepts.  Anyway, here’s to hoping it is true and that it will be good and most importantly, minus the Hammerhead.

This may be a little late, but... I am not going to hold my breath. I don't believe the whole EB employee having a friend inside Bioware that would risk their career by blabbing unreleased info to some sales clerk at a game store.  /facepalm

Perhaps money exhanged hands or other favors.  :P

Bah, you are right!  But it's fun to get hopes up and to have them crushed later on!

Well, true of not, now I'm torn.  I like the idea of Liara being the next dlc and Liara "possibly" taking over TIM's role for the "gap" stories.  Then again, I love jlb524's idea of Shep getting captured by the Shadow Broker in a cliffhanger dlc right before ME3 comes out.  Odds are none of this will happen and we'll just get emails from TIM and Admiral Hackett from here on out. <_<

Well, if it is the great ME2 to ME3-bridging DLC, it could also be the last story driven DLC until ME3. Therefore, you could get the cliffhanger DLC ending, though you couldn't continue playing on with that Shepard until ME3 import time. Some people might not like that.

I wouldn't mind, as I've done everything that needs to be done in ME2 and my Shepard is just standing in her room right beside her computer staring and Liara's photo 24/7. They could still release other DLC and add-ons like weapons and armor and such.

Will she take TIM's role? Perhaps for the DLC, she will act as your main information source and quest giver (like he was in ME2). With some Shepard's, TIM is still in the picture, so I'm not sure how he would react to Shepard taking direction from Liara. Probably not well, unless he is convinced that it could benefit him/Cerberu/the mission/whatever.

TIM will most likely have his goons out looking for me and my defected crew!
