This is very good. The writers at BioWare should look at it. Sums up perfectly one of the two major problems in all three ME 1 reunion scenes. The second of course being Shepard  apparently not caring about anything.

Well really, you can't give Kaidan crap for being pissed at you, the only problem with the cameo scene is Shepards dialog.

Liara fans, tell me why you stay with Liara in ME2? She was my ME1 romance. I don't pursue a romance in ME2, nor would I call it cheating. It's not as if Liara is clear where she stands on their relationship. This entire game has me frustrated.

It's not Liara's fault, it's Bioware failtastic writers...

You do know that the writing team from ME expect for Drew was part of the writing team in ME2 with only four newcomers?

Hello, guys.

Regarding the question S.L posed as to why a player stayed loyal to Liara in ME 2, I guess it is due to the fact that cheating on a person or character is, traditionally, anmathia to me. Also, this is coupled with the fact that my main Shep (Christopher 'Ares') was the one I intended to use throughout the trilogy.

On the other hand, I did start a 'Renegon' Shepard from scratch within ME 1 and am currently planning to experiment with this concept, particularly to see as to how this will be resolved/recieved by an ME 1 LI in ME 3.

And that's why I blame EA. It's nicer that way.

Kaidan's reaction on Horizon is completely understandable, I think. He, along with Ashley, is a devoted and proud Alliance soldier to the core. He came to trust and respect Shepard, regardless of romance. He's a caring and sensitive person.

His former commanding officer then shows up two years later, after Kaidan believed Shepard had died. The manner in which Shepard treats the fact that he/she is now working for an avowed terrorist group, how Shepard trivialises and treats this in such an offhand manner will upset Kaidan. He also worries that Shepard is being manipulated and used by Cerberus. Using the threat of a Reaper in order to control Shepard, and have him/her carry out their own wishes.

Shepard is then also asking Kaidan to desert, and go AWOL. Why would he abandon his position in the Alliance to work for a terrorist group that he finds disgustingly abhorrent? Risk a court martial? He wouldn't, because he has his own principals and he cares for Shepard. Almost conflictingly so, Kaidan does not join the squad because he cares for Shepard's wellbeing so much. He trusts Shepard, but does not trust Cerberus one iota.

A few of my thoughts about Horizon. I'll post my opinions and interpretations of Liara and Illium a little later.

Very true. In that case, I wish there was a more forecul option of saying that I don't work for Cerberus, and I'm getting out of there ASAP.

Not to mention, LET, that the Alliance may not know the complete picture as to Cerubus' beginnings or goals (on top of the work that does not involve conflict or xeno bigotry). Either that or, due to the multiple incidents and clashes, the Alliance has made a blanket judgement of Cerebus as a whole and does not allow its soldiers to know otherwise.

Sorry, I'll leave it at that.

I still think Cerberus and the Alliance are still togetehr and only high ranking people know about it. Just too many connections and stuff.

Yeah, they really have a moral high ground and it´s clear if you stop thinking of Shepard´s actions as the center of everything. Sadly a lot of this comes from limiting the dialog you can say. Shepard does imply he is aware of Cerberus (to Tali and Garrus too), but asking them to go was stupid, especially if you rejected/were not offered back Specter status.
What annoyed me most was that there´s no e-mail with no romance. Would have thought the after the ME1 events we  were good friends at least.

The main reason the reaction from Ash and Kaidan is not realistic is this: They just saw what the collectors did. And they saw Shepard once again saving the day, doing what no other could do. Plus, they saw the reapers, and they know their own council and alliance still denies that threat too. All certainly reason enough to listen to Shepard, at least not treat him like they do. That Shepard doesn't talk to them properly, is of course the second problem, as I said.

Exactly. I know it has somewhat been retconned out of existence, but Admiral Kahoku's reaction to discovering Cerberus' true nature in ME1 was very telling. The Alliance is keeping alot of the details about Cerberus on a strictly need to know basis, even high ranking officers.

Plus, consider that Kaidan also witnessed, along with Shepard and the rest of the squad, the disgusting experiments that Cerberus conducted in ME1. He finds Cerberus utterly disgusting, and with good reason.

Now imagine Liara's guilt and self loathing for handing Shepard's corpse to Cerberus. She hates them, but they're the only group prepared to revive the person she loves and holds dearest in the galaxy. Her internal conflict has been eating away at her terribly.

And that comic strip is awesome.  I want to print a thousand copies of it, and air drop them over Chud's house.
