Actual statistics may not bear this out, but my sense from reading the forum is that people who romanced Liara tended to move on to a ME2 romance less often than people who romanced Kaidan and, especially, Ashley. I wonder why.
Hmmm...I've seen tons of people move on from Liara, many for either Tali or Miranda (just a few for Jack). I haven't seen many FemShep players move on from her, just one or two who picked Garrus.

I'm sure they communicate on these characters, especially considering Walters wrote the version of TIM most are familiar with.

I think that may be what's skewing my perceotion. Most of the people I see who are staying faithful to Liara are playing FemShep.

It was? How? The comic only explores how Cerberus got Shepard and why Liara began to hunt the SB. There is still a gap we have not seen. She changed in those two years, that's character growth and dev.
kraidy, I mean a missed opportunity in elaborating on specifically how the events of Redemption would have affected Liara to the extent that we see in ME2. Rather than be deep in any way, what we get is something with extremely poor presentation and that is very shallow.

Meh I read the comic telling my self that it's about getting Shepards body back. It works.

I dunno, I think it's hard to get an idea of what genders romance who and whatnot. Not everyone who is a fan of a character, is a part of the forums. And people may say one thing, but they actually believe another. You'd have to do some kind of door-to-door questionaire around the world to get a real count. XD

But I garantee you, if Miranda and/or Tali had been bisexual love interests; there would've been an equal, if not greater amounts of disloyal Female Shepards.

I've read that before. It's a pretty disgusting attitude.
Liara is a tool you use and exploit, before discarding because what you orginally wanted in the first place is available? Come on!
Meh. I like FemShep/Liara best anyway.

I know there's more to it for most people in here. I've just have a bad feelings that a decent amount of those Femshep players who stayed loyal to Liara was because there was no F/F romance in ME2 (aside from Kelly which doesn't count).
"EDIT" Indigo ninja'd me to it.
It's sad that Liara's character have been so completly wrecked that most people cheat on her. Hopefully they will show the ME1 LI's in a positive light and the ME2 in a slightly negative one in ME3.

Honestly, the thought of romancing Tali never occurred to me. Before I read about the possibility on the forums shortly before release, I'd never have thought there would be a noticeable demand for that. /shrug

Well, let's not forget that not all MaleSheps were disloyal and just thought of Liara as an f-buddy. Mine truly and deeply love her, and are unendingly loyal. Not a single one mf my Shepards is being disloyal to their ME1 romance, and that's the way it's staying.

I think that's why the comic suffered. Not that I think they should have turned it into a love fest (I agree, it wouldn't be fair), but that the writers had to be careful what they added, about Liara, about Shepard, since they had to avoid canon. Thus, the focus had to be on action and biotic kung-fu, with little possibility for any meaningful character development.

Or perhaps elaborate on Liara's feelings of guilt, her emotional torment and the pain she's endured? That's what I'm getting at. I know the comic has to be romance neutral, and I'm fine with that. But I feel that there were other missed opportunities to provide exposition on her character without the necessity of romance.

The comic was a good idea, but when you have to be that careful about stepping on toes, it might have just been better to scrap it altogether.

Exposition that should have been featured in game, so that the save game import feature could have tailor made Liara's dialogue and actions to fit each player's individual Shepard.
Not the vague and ambiguous nonsense we ended up with.
Liara DLC will rectify this!
