You mentioned the ME: Redemption comic, i actually have the first issue of that being as i bought the Collectors Edition of ME2, although i didn't read it until i finished ME2 as i fear there would be a spoiler or two (i was avoiding EVERYTHING for fear of spoilers when first playing, forums, youtube comments you name it)... big mistake!



On the topic of the comics i'll probably get the other issues eventually, i think i'm going to wait until they are on itunes so i can put them onto my ipod touch I just seen the second issue is now on there, will most likely download it sometime this week.



LesEnfantsTerribles - i understand what you mean about Shepard just sitting there, that kind of lead me more to my wrong theory that it was over.

Yeah I was really worried too, the only saving grace was during the cinema for the suicide mission, you take a good look at the pic in your cabin.

The writing for Shepard in the Liara reunion is particularly poor indeed. With the Liara DLC hopefully on the way though, the scene is probably unfinished and there is alot more interaction with Liara to come. Can't wait!!

"Liara it's so nice to see you again, I have missed you so much. I hope everything is alright with you and I'm sorry it toke so long for me to get here".... or something like that. After the ridiculous hacking missions... "Liara it's alright you did the right thing and never have the doubt in your heart, I love you so much."  *Big hug so the poor girl don't have to be so damn sad, maybe another kiss as well* I'll be back when the mission is over so we can sort all this out and find your friend.

Liara: But Shepard your going on a suicide mission?
Shep: I'll be back I promise

emm.. well a little more flashed out but something like that.

You do know that Shepard is a stone cold killa? Killa's don't have time for emotions...

Obviously I am joking, because that is the one part of the scene that actually made me angry when I was heartbroken watching Liara.
I just wanted to slap my Shep around through the screen and get her to, at the very least, say, "I Love you Liara!".

I put this post in the Liara fan club but it certainly applies here as well. Must have DLC.....my shep is going to be smash x20 by the time it comes out.

The first Shepard I ported into ME2 was my completionist Infiltrator WH/Spacer. I was all ready to have a family reunion with Mom, Dad and Liara when Illum happened.

Kinda stream of conciousness at inital reactions to Liara and her side quests.

First thing I noticed:

Creeepy Nyxaris is waaaaaaatchiiiiiing us! Wait...ummm these 2 peck kisses are happening semi off screen? Why? WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHY! Ok....SB is a ****, got it, hack hack hack...ummmm Moar romance plz??? Arg! Why are you taking about Feron? I only just read the first comic and why is he so important to you? UMMMM! But you had to go thru hell to get my remains, why dont I have a huggle interupt! WHY! *Twitches* What happened in that comic series to make you so angry! I should be the one to coffee cup SB with my widow!

Why doesnt this office have a bedroom? Wheres your house, we need to get away from creepy Nyxi. Tali/Garrus, no reaction? COME ON!!!! Your my A team peeps! Sadness.....seriously...........*sigh* ok we will kick Observer ass, only cause I loves you! Why cant I say it out loud? Damn, Miranda broke my brain durning the operation, maybe I can do something after the suicide mission?
Later, post suic-mis, complete with everyone and thier cat alive:

I bring in Miranda, to see if Liara has any reactions, because by then I had the next comic read. And so.....
*Twitch* CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP! ZIP NADA NOTHUN!

My Shepard spins in circles on screen in a attempt to find a secret or hidden area on Illum. No success. Goes to Enterity bar to get drunk and wait impatiently for DLC to kick SB in the quad.

"I dont care what you say, your going to get on the Normandy now! This place is creeepy! Besides I have extreamly shocking information about the Protheans. Plus: I have to teach you how to drive the new hover tank I have. It can melt Shadow brokers with ease. Kelly doesnt stop staring at me too. Bed is bigger! I have my own shower. Seeing that makes you feel as though you just got hit by a sucker punch from BioWare.
Why couldn't they have added at least that one romantically comforting dialogue option?
Right when she says "I couldn't let you go", it was and is the perfect moment to comfort her.
She needs comfort from Shep! She is emotionally suffering for goodness sake.
Come on Liara Expansion! <3:wub:
I actually believe we will hear news about it in the fourth comic book.

Really, it's completely and utterly immersion breaking that we aren't given an option to comfort her more, or show concern for her wellbeing and welfare. Liara's been through so much for Shepard, endured so many hardships and is so emotionally tormented, and all Shep can do is talk about the mission? Bah.

So, I guess we all noticed that Liara's character is a little bit. . . darker in ME2 than it was in ME1. The old Liara is still in there somewhere, but there are only a few moments when her old self shines through. Since I really liked her character in ME1, I wasn't very comfortable with the change.
But I figure that if Liara will be a squadmate in ME3, we will get the chance to either support her new, *darker* character, or help her to deal with the things she has been through and become more like the Liara we once knew.
Would you try to get the old Liara back, or do you like her new character better?
