Liara would want to protect Rachel from the hatred and disdain that's targeted at her. Liara's compassionate and emotionally strong enough to do so. It works!

I like the swipe at Goldman-Sachs, with them having the approval of the Batarians themselves.   That's a nice touch.

That wasn't quite my intent, but I was trying to demonstrate that Goldman is one very tough and aggressive firm. 

Of all the characters in the Mass Effect universe, I was able to only imagine Liara being a securities trader.

Yep, if Liara's got a gun in her hands, one has to be sure as to whether she's going to shoot or if she's just threatening a person in order to get them to back off.

I just finished a single MaleShep who dragged Liara, Garrus, and Kaidan around with him everywhere. Very odd to hear her deliver Renegade lines. Foreshadowing? Also like the interplay between Kaidan and Liara, especially her offer to teach him meditation techniques and her dry comments about the reaction of teen boys to her species. I can see what LET likes about the pairing.
