You didn't like ME2 or just the Liara factor?
Both.

Liara is one of the main reasons as to why I enjoyed Mass Effect so much.
If she's not in the game, then ME3 will be nuthin' to me!
Regardless, I'm confident to the point of certainty that she'll be a squaddie again in ME3.
For me, the beautiful Liara romance was just the icing on the cake. I loved ME 1 from the very beginning, right from the cool menu, and the atmospheric first cutscene. Whereas ME 2 annoyed me almost right from the start, and the terrible writing for Liara's scene was again just a "highlight". <_<

Really? I don't see it... in ME1 we took down one reaper... by ME2 probably close to one million were descending into known space......

First time I ever experienced the Liara romance, I was blown away. Seriously, I absolutely adored it and the emotions that resonated within me were incredible. I loved it, and was deeply touched by the emotional depth and the interaction and dialogue between Liara and Shepard. Liara's emotions and feelings, the manner in which the pair fall in love with each other. Beautiful!
My first experiance with her was kind of an oddity. In my first playthrough I never clued in that she was the last recruitable member (I believe I thought it was Fist and when Wrex killed him, I thought I screwed it upLesEnfantsTerribles wrote...

Dude's just being an anally retentive grammar Nazi. It's not as if what I wrote was incomprehensible, incoherent and undecipherable crap, was it?
You mean you never noticed that the "grayed out" squadmate ("blued out" actuallymuskettman87 wrote...

Heh! I imagine if you beat Feros as your first story mission, you'd think Shiala was the game's recruitable asari.
Anybody else love Liara's defiance when she refuses to go with the krogan on Therum? Her strength, and assertiveness in jeopardising her own safety in order to do the right thing?
Whatever it is, you are not getting it from me!

But of courseI also love how she "flares up" her biotics just before the fight starts. Too bad she just sits through the actual fight, but I assume that's just for game mechanics reasons (that and they'd die way too fast if she participated).

Yeah, I think so...imagine how easy that battle would be with Liara hurling Singularities.

I loved it too! Loved it so much, after beating ME1 for the first time (and romancing Liara) I fired up a new game right away so I could experince it again. And again, and again, and again....
Truly awesome!

To tell the truth, when I fired up my second playthough, I was actually missing Liara badly during the game's prologue! I looked at Liara's spot in the medbay storage area, saw that Liara's seat was empty and felt so sad and melancholic. I'd gotten used to having Liara around and had gotten so attached to her. I missed her badly during the game's beginning!
