Yeah I'm curious too. I'm not sure if I'm going to buy FFXIII, JRPG's are hit and miss for me. The last one I played was Lost Odyssey for 360 and I really liked it. I could rent it first and try it out.

Well with FF you can count on them having a great story and great characters and, while different, the game play will probably be excellent as well.  I don't think I've ever been really let down or disappointed with a FF game.  My all time favorite is a FF game followed closely by ME1.

You just won't see great reviews for it in the US reviews as they are typically biased toward the GoW/CoD style gameplay and don't rate things like story and characters as highly.

I haven't played a FF since the super nintendo. I loved that game as a kid. I guess I don't really know why they just sort of slid off the radar for me. I'll give it a shot. As for reviews, yeah it's stupid when games like CoD and GTA get better ratings than ME1. CoD and GTA don't have 1/1000th the story and character development. You just shoot crap.

Off topic, looks like the hate thread finally got locked. 

about time it got locked, as i thought of even PM-ing some mod with request to lock it if it hadn't been done in a week or so, and btw the vid linked on page 160 was great. i really enjoyed watching it:D

Ah, if you missed FFX you missed one of the best "love stories" in a video game I have ever seen.  The end of that game is completely heart wrenching. :crying:

Would love to see it. My current maleShep Evan is an ME1 import who loved Liara, and he's being faithful to her. I was really shocked to see that when you romance her in ME1, she's the one who loads people onto the escape pods in ME2 instead of Ash. Just assumed Ash was the default if you were a guy. I don't know if it's my gender speaking or what (female), but I found Ash to be too confrontational and snippy to romance with my maleShep.



Liara was laid-back, warm and gentle, and not once throughout the game did she take a jab at Ash like Ash did at her at every opportunity. That's not say that I don't think we women should be feisty- but there was a meanness to Ash's taunts. "Bug eyed aliens", "maybe I should ask Liara about her sex life, haha", etc. My Shep responded very negatively toward these jabs toward Liara.



I want to see where the relationship will go in ME3.

You mean they didn't cut out a bunch of stuff and left you hanging? 

I wouldn't even be able to explain it, you have to play the game to really understand it.  That game will always hold a special place for me.  Yuna and Tidus are the only video game couple I would put above Shep and Liara.

Yeah, ME2 didn't help that. I still have high hopes for the conclusion of Shep/Liara though. 

I don't think I'll get the chance to play FFX though, I don't have a playstation console. I'll see if any of my friends have it. They'd let me borrow it.

It is totally worth it if you can get your hands on it.  Now I want to go back and play it again.

As for ME2, we'll have to see how things turn out.  If ME3 is going to pick up where ME1 left off and I can just kinda forget that ME2 ever happened I think they will have effectively salvaged the series.  If not, well, it is what it is.

Ah, the Mako. I always liked it. People say it was trashed because of the forum response, but I doubt it. It's apparent that the new vehicle was always supposed to be in the game, but the game was just pushed out of the door. I think this end of March would have been closer to the correct release date: The vehicle would have been implemented, the comics would all be released, and there would've been enough time to do the Liara scene properly. To really make the game what it should have been, would have required half to one year more though.

well. if you give mako better tires [better handling ]it would be ok, i have nothing against mako and idk why people so screamed about it's removal on forums, [which i found about on this forums] anyway enough of this offtopic i think=] i suppose Liara would agree witch me on this matter...

I don't think you missed too much. The thread is going at a steady pace as it always has. We've chilled out on speculation. I think we're all just waiting for the last comic and DLC announcement. GDC is today so we might hear something interesting.

Ooooh, I forgot about GDC. I plan to attend E3 this year though. I hope we do hear something today from GDC

On the PC, I always found the handling to be quite perfect actually. I never heard Liara complain about my Shepard's driving. To keep it on topic.

I hated the way the Mako handled.  To make up for it I always used to imagine the crew inside, Shepard driving like a maniac and using the boosters at the most inopportune times,  Tali laughing and giggling as she bounecs all around, and Liara pulling her seatbelt tighter and asking Shep "is it really necessary to drive at these speeds...WATCH OUT!"  as I hit the boosters at the edge of the cliff.
