FWIW, I always go Therum > Noveria > Feros > Virmire. I like to head off to Noveria after Therum b/c I like the manner in which the story progresses that way. You're informed relatively early on in the game that Saren's followers are being brainwashed to do his bidding, and I think it helps to avoid there being too many big reveals toward the end of the game. If you leave Noveria until just before Virmire, I get the impression that you're having too many plot twists and revelations thrown at you all at once. From a metagaming perspective, I like taking Liara to confront her mother relatively early, b/c she wants to attempt to talk some sense into her and so that Liara isn't loved worried, confused and agitated as to Benezia's state of mind for too long. I know Benezia then dies, but at least Liara is somewhat at peace and knows her mother was not acting of her own free will.
Oh, and I use Wrex's personal mission to advance the dialogue to prevent Liara admitting attraction to Shepard right after Benezia's death.

I do Therum > Feros > Noveria > Virmire.
It just feels better that way and better in the story because we are taking out Sranes "second in command" before we go to Virmire.
(btw, nice avie)

I can see the appeal of that order too. In most works of fiction, taking out the main antagonist's second in command usually happens just before the final battle itself. Kinda like Agahnim in a Link to the Past, right before you fight Ganon.
I just prefer the story revelations and twists occurring at a much slowly pace, and being spread out more evenly across the game.
Oh, and thanks for the compliment regarding my beautiful Kate/Liara avatar! That J, she's a special girl, isn't she?

The problem I have with Virmire>Ilos is it doesn't right to meet Saren twice in a row. It makes more sense to have Virmire>Noveria>Ilos because then you meet the main villain face to face, but you don't get him there. Then you go in and take his second in command. Then you have the finale.
Just my 2 cents.

That's how I do it...after 8 playthroughs, I decided that was the best order.
