I wonder....if you do Virmire prior to Noveria and become aware of the nature and effects of indoctrination before confronting Benezia, will Liara attempt to help her mother overcome it's effects and refer to it by name? Will Liara try to help Benezia resist indoctrination?

Nope. As far as I remember, the scene is unchanged. But I do believe Shepard will "Sovreign is not like other ships, where did he get it?" But it's been months since I last played ME. So I don't know if he says that all the time.

I've done this before, and I can't recall a difference.

Nope, she just does the usual "A DONT CARE YOU BROUGHT DAT HOE!" :wizard: I always do Noveria last because it sucks, so nah, its lame, they should really :P Gotta have Liara in your party for Virmire...'I dont know what's worse, the geth or this sand in my...nevermind'

Dang, another oversight.

Oh how I wish Liara and Shiala would acknowledge each other. I would've loved that!

leeboi2, I wanted to try Kaidan and Ash too once vs the 4 Shepard with Liara, and one for Miri without cheating.

LES, I think is the same than Feros before Noveria, when she is dying you tell her you already new, but Liara´s lines didn´t change (quite an oversight, IMHO)

I leave Virmire for the end because I like to do all sidequests, and not going to Ilos after leaving the Citadel is rather stupid. Wish there was something like the crew killed from ME2.

You know, you can just save some time and say you would love anything and everything as long as it involves Liara in some way. Image IPB

It is quite an oversight, yeah. Liara should have pleaded with Benezia to attempt to fight the effects of indoctrination, and resist Sovereign's control.

Still, I do love the fact that taking Liara with you to confront Benezia results in unique dialogue. I imagine it's almost like a completely different scene when Liara isn't present. It'd seem extremely strange to me b/c I take Liara with me everywhere.

Not that different really from what I remember, the prefight dialog and the farewell (Goodnight, little wing...:crying:). I hope the ME3 team learn from the DA:O team for character interaction and writing

How does Liara react to the news that Benezia has been indoctrinated and killed if you pick her up from Therum post-Noveria?

Good question, us hardcore Liara fans wouldn't know because we go for her first eh? :wizard:

Why do your Shep wear the old fugly N7 armor? ME2 version looks faaaar better.

For a pure soldier, maybe. But for a biotic or stealth specialist, I think the old ME 1 armor is much better suited. And I think it's not ugly at all.

I think I did see this on youtube once....

I don't think it comes up during your squad meeting right after her recruitment.  I think that, when you talk to her, you can pick the 'Benezia' investigate option and she has the exact same convo she has there any other time (She talks about her being beautiful, etc. and you ask her is she's going to be OK.)

Argh! They bring up the fact that Shepard stumbles upon the knowledge that Liara has been attempting to discover for 50 years, but not the death of her own mother? Jeez!

And yes, I pick up Liara ASAP. I skip all Citadel sidequests. I can't bear to spend any unnecessary time seperated from Liara!

Yeah, I hate having clunky big armor on my adept...I miss light armor :crying:

But, that's what PC mods are for!

Hmmm, at least you still have that option, I suppose.

Would have been nice to get some unique Liara dialogue, however.

Indeed. I like that the old armor can still be used, if only with mods. If only we could mod the terrible Liara scene too!

All unique Liara dialog is good dialog!

Also slightly off topib: But i've just gathered enough screenshots so I can tell another choose-your-own-adventure story based on screenshots? Do you all wanna hear it?

Liara. Forced to watch her mother succumb to the horrifying effects of indoctrination. Forced to watch the person who raised her and loved her die in absolute agony. Liara, standing there powerless to assist her mother.

Just how much of a traumatic event was Benezia's death for her? Poor girl.

It's even worse when you know she's also gonna lose Shepard a few months later! :crying:

Whatever, Colonist Shepard's parents were killed by slavers, and Earthborn Shepard didn't even have parents. She'll live.

I think Colonist Shepard can be compared to Liara, but not Earthborn.

Earthborn never had parents to love and lose.

Benezia´s fate is arguably worse (her actual self was aware of what she was doing - kill or be killed by her own daughter was just the last straw), but Liara doesn´t take it bad. Losing Shepard and the aftermath of that added to it however...
