Like I've said before, I still think the whole issue surrounding Liara's other parent is going to turn out to be a Chekov's Gun, and could possibly play a large story role or be a significant plot point in the future. You don't introduce something like that about a core character like Liara, before then leaving it unresolved and the whole issue hanging in the background. Especially as, via Matriarch Aethyta, we're subtley reminded of it and it's maintained in our subconcious minds.

Playing ME1 again, and I've just watched the scene during the Normandy's lockdown where Liara comes to Shepard's aid by the lockers. I absolutely adore that scene! The manner in which Liara reinvigorates Shepard would confidence, and inspires her committment to facing the battles ahead and stopping Saren and Sovereign is heartwarming. I adore it!

I love that scene too.  We see for the first time just how important Shepard is to Liara.

I think we see that when Liara first describes the asari union to Shepard. To me, that is when we see just how much Liara cherishes and treasures the love between them. You see there just how much Shepard means to Liara. Love it!

Yeah, I think that's the start.  I think Liara is still a bit unsure of herself and the realtionship, though.  She explains the union beautifully, but then stumbles a bit when Shepard asks her if she's ever done this before.  It's cute!

The manner in which she attempts to backtrack when she inadvertedly reveals that she's never melded before is absolutely adorable! Yeah, that conversation shows just how much the union means to her, and how she has to develop incredible trust and love for her partner before she even considers it. Love it!

The locker-scene is one of my facourite scenes in Mass Effect, although I hate how Joker ruins the moment.

Yeah really! This asari was a fellow student of Liara's. They grew close to one another. However, sadly enough, this was when Liara was still a little uncomfortable with being a pureblood, and hadn't accepted it like she has in ME1. Therefore, Liara broke off her relationship with this asari. Sad!
