Aria is the same...

Liara is such a freak! I think york has a point, here.

I think it's the way in which the color blends. Look at Samara's headcrest. It's a dark teal/green color, and looks as if its color is "seeping" in to the light blue of her face. If Asari just look like humans wearing prosthetic head-props, you can't immediately tell where the prosthetic joins with her head. Liara's headcrest is a lighter color than the rest of her face, and it doesn't blend well - it looks like a curved line across her forehead, which gives it the prosthetic look.

See, I look at Samara and you don't get the same kind of "beauty" and "familiarity" vibe that I get when I look at Liara. Her eyebrows and facial contours give her a much more recogniseable "human" appearance. Eyebrows are a vital aspect in facial recognition, and Liara and Benezia are unique in that they are the only asari that possess them, and therefore have a more familiar human appearance that is easier to relate to.

Rana's head fringes are very unique too...

I think york does have a point. Every other asari has the colour of their headfringes blend in perfectly. Liara is different!

I can't tell if this is a good or bad thing, on Bioware's part.

Anyway, I think Samara is just as attractive as Liara.  If your definition of beauty is anthropomorphic paraeidolia, then I don't have much to say either way.

Note that I'm not saying this makes Liara look inferior to other Asari, I'm saying that she looks very human, as opposed to other Asari, who have physical traits that make them look less familiar, less human, more alien.

Anyone else think Aria is the second-most beautiful Asari? Or is it the Asari councilor? Anyway, Aria is one of the few things in ME 2 I do really like.

I think Liara is cute, I think Samara is beautiful, I think the Asari councilor is beautiful, and I think Aria is hot.

There are subtle differences there, I hope people can understand them :?

No, because I thought I made it pretty clear in my post that I don't consider familiarity and beauty to be one of the same. I'm just saying that Liara's design gives her a more "human" appearance, and therefore is easier to relate to and familiarise yourself with. Samara is still beautiful, but in a more alien way. Liara's beauty is more human. That's all. One is not more superior than the other.

Yeah, I think they wanted to give her the illusion of 'hair' to make her more human?  I don't know...Liara's head coloring is more concentrated, and it's difficult to make it look good if you are drawing her.

I don't really care, I think all asari are sexay!  Liara/Samara/Aria/etc.

Aria is definitely the second most beautiful asari, right after our very own Liara!

I think Aria and Liara kind of look the same in the face.

I'm curious now what Benezia's head fringes were like...we can't see them, unfortunately.

That's explains why they ignore Liara different head color in Redemption but why they have ignored the frekles?

I actually think it'd look strange to see her without her headdress. We've become so accustomed to her wearing it, that it would look odd to actually see her head fringes.

Liara does resemble Benezia facially, yeah. I wonder how Liara will look as a Matriarch, though?

I must admit I always found that headdress a bit ridiculous.

IMO, there is no excuse good enough for ignoring her freckles. Makes about the same amount of sense as making her purple.... Image IPB

It's to give her the stereotypical "Evil Matriarch/Queen" vibe. Think of the evil queen in Snow White, and other characters of her ilk.

I do agree that the headdress is a little funny looking, though!

I agree with you Liara in Redemption don't even look like Liara the only good ilustration of Liara in Redemption is the cover of the first comic.

If the artist had drawn her freckles onto her Redemption design, then it would have resembled Liara a little bit more, IMO.

Liara has never examined the human butt, either.
