Shepard and Liara may have been the only attendees. Benezia is probably a disgraced figure amongst the asari now. They see her as a traitor and a terrorist. Must be so hard on Liara to have her mother's name erroneously smeared in that manner. :crying:

Perhaps Shepard was able to clear Benezia name after all he know that she was indoctrinated and he was and a hero a hero word was a lot of importance see how he got Anderson the place as human concilor.

They can't have a funeral if he's just MIA. Which he was during Redemption. However, after handing his body to Cerberus, I'm sure Liara lied to everyone, and claimed he's offically dead, and his body was destroyed.

I doubt it. To the general public, Sovereign was just a geth ship and the Reapers do not exist. To them, Benezia joined up with Saren of her own free will and willingly became a terrorist and was his accomplice. I don't think Shepard could ever clear Benezia's name, not whilst the Reapers remain a myth.

It's sad, though. I'm sure Liara would want her mother remembered properly.

Shepard was presumed dead by the Alliance, though...I think they had a memorial service, as there wasn't a body for a proper funeral.

Liara didn't know about all that later, and she didn't tell anyone that the body was found and given to Cerberus.

It's interesting how they just copied several aspects of the Liara story from ME 1 into the Tali story in ME 2.
