Fortunately you can still have a happy end with Aribeth. BioWare redeemed themself in my view with HotU, after the mediocre OC. I just hope they'll provide a happy end with Liara, and redeem themself again, with ME 3.

Except that the HOTU protag is the SOU protag, not the OC one. That was a cheap bait-and-switch, and I didn't like the retconning of Aribeth's motivation. I won't argue about HOTI being much better in general or the OC being mediocre. JE and the OC are my least favorite Bioware games.

True enough. HotU didn't make the OC better, like a great ME 3 wouldn't undo ME 2. But the OC had the excuse that it delivered a toolset that brought us many great campaigns for free.

I don't think ME2 needs to be "undoing" because I think it's a much better game than ME. The only thing I wish for is more banter and better pacing in squad conversations.

I never got to experience much player-made content. I was stuck with official stuff.

Then you lost, for example, a really well done continuation and conclusion of the original Aribeth story. As I keep saying, almost any flaw could be forgiven if they allowed proper modding.

Can you be more specific? When I learned of the Aribeth part of HotU I stopped playing and haven´t gone back yet. A module where I can kill Nasher would be fine too, the S**. Would really like to know what the writer was thinking to kill and put her in hell. It is the death that made me angrier at the responsible writers after Jean Grey´s first.
About Liara, this points to a worrying trend with some characters: Ari, Viconia, and probably others deserved much better than their endings.

Honestly, I still can not understand why they have not released the toolset for ME/2, but I suspect its becuase they want to control content mods for the $$$. If you cant add player generated content, you are forced to BUY what they offer, and on their crappy slow schedule.  It may just be a case of trying to keep their slow development processes in business.

I don't blame them for not releasing the full toolset. But I do find it annoying that modding the game is so hard. It's to do with the engine and all that, but still. All their previous games, including DA, have an "override" folder where you can easily replace any of the game's files.

They plan to squeeze every penny they can from the ME franchise, and to do that they must control everything, which includes not allowing player generated content to make them look like amatures, and outpace their content generation by months.

I haven't seen a single toolset release for a game on the Unreal Engine besides UT3

EDIT:  For the record, it would be due to Epic because they own that engine, Bioware just rents it.

Glasses suit Liara's personality perfectly. Gives her a really intellectual look, and eptomises her cute, dorky personality. I love it!

If she had glasses in-game, I'd never get anything done.
