She'd be a constant distraction. You'd just want to perpetually stare at her.

I wonder if Liara ever used her doctorate to occasionally conduct lectures at the University of Thessia? That would be quite an adorable sight to see. I think she's be able to educate and enlighten her students perfectly!

I'd totally sit in on that class!

I had a fantasy (pre-ME2) that Liara would become a professor and teach at a University after Shepard's death.  After coming back from the dead, Shepard would, of course, look for Liara and discover that this is what she is now doing.

Shepard would come up with a plan to see Liara again by sneaking into one of her lectures and she would sit in the back of the lecture hall the entire time, pretending to be a student.  After lecture when all the other students had cleared the room, it would just be Shepard sitting there.  Liara and her eyes would meet, Liara would rush to the back of the lecture hall and pick up Shepard in a warm, loving embrace and passionately kiss her.

This totaly didn't happen, though.

I doubt it. That life is in the past now. Though if Shepard and Liara would ever get together again after the reapers, I'd imagine she'd just become a University teacher on alien cultures.

EDIT: Oh yeah, nice profile pic.

That's amazingly cute, though! I could totally see Liara doing something like this!

I also had my own ideas regarding the way in which we'd reunite with Liara in ME2. I thought we'd meet her on a digsite and that she was excavating something that would serve a huge plot role. Liara and Shepard would passionately kiss, and they'd reconcile the relationship.

Didn't happen!

Liara's adventures are far superior to those of Indiana Jones, though.

He locates and discovers the Ark of the Covenant and the Holy Grail. That's boring compared to saving all sapient life in the galaxy. Liara rules!

I never thought about how the might meet again. I always assumed ME 2 would continue where ME 1 ended, with the old crew, give or take a few, but certainly the LIs would remain. It seemed so obvious, how could BioWare do anything else? Even when I heard that Shepard would die, I thought it was a matter of course that the old companions would be there when Shepard would inevitable resurrected.

Only shortly before release I read a bit on the new forums and learnt of all those changes. <_<

Insofar as I thought about it, I never expected the whole crew back. Even BG2 was about fifty-fifty, so that was what I assumed we'd get in ME2 and what I assume we'll get in ME3. So, about 4-6 returning crew, with the rest being new people.

I wonder what Liara thought of MaleShep after seeing him in the process of shaving his face for the first time.   Since she's not familiar with humans, and since hair seems to be a uniquely human trait, it must have been a shock to see him walking around with shaving cream on his face.

Shepard stands at the sink in his quarters.   Wetting his face, he applies shaving cream and spreads it across his skin evenly.  On his desk, his computer beeps.   Wrapping a towel around his waist, he walks out of the bathroom at the very same moment Liara enters his quarters.  Liara stops, her eyes going wide.

Liara (shouting, concerned):  "Shepard!  What is that on your face!"
Shepard (startled, incredulous):  "Shaving...cream?"
Liara: "W-well, what is it for?"
Shepard (amused):  "Humans use it to remove hair."
Liara:  "I see...do human females also apply it to their faces?"
Shepard:  "Not so much, no.  Well, some of them, but you won't hear about it."
Liara shakes her head.

Hahaha! Image IPB

I have to wonder what Liara would think about facial hair in general. I'm sure she has to wonder how humans deal with the hair on the top of their heads, how we keep from going insane from the itching of millions of tiny caratin strands.

It would probably be stranger for her if Shepard started growing his beard in after shaving it since he'd known Liara. She might find it strange that all the sudden nuzzling had becoming so... scratchy. Althogh, she probably did plenty of research on humans after coming onto the Normandy. First hand experience would still no doubt be different.

Liara would get used to it. She might even get into it, once it grew longer. And if it really bothered her, any caring Shepard would just shave it.

This reminds me of a recent scrap I did. With a Shepard who looks like a cross between Randy Orton and Phil Brooks.

Grizzly Adams Shepard would confuse almost every alien species.  It's worse enough that it grows from our heads, but now he has a long beard, too.  I think that might be pushing the way Asari are able to find any species attractive.  Though, I'm sure any species would be able to appreciate the classy-as-**** handlebar mustache.

I did. I wondered for a long time what meeting up with her would be like. I knew for a while before ME2's release that LI's would not be recruitable. So I had my running theories about why Liara would be unable to join you.

One of them was Liara was somehow blinded during the events in Redemption. Not sure how I came up with this wild idea, it sorta just occured to me. Another was that at the end of Redemption, Liara would end up in Collector captivity. And we would find her aboard the Collector ship after being subject to some nasty experiments.

However, reality did not measure up to idle fantasies.

I think that if the asari can find turians attractive, they should have no problem with beards.

But as a word of warning; Shepard would most likely look like a male adult film star with a mustache. Except for a Renegades, they could twirl it whilst going about their nefarious-doings.

Shepard's already got the Kirk Genes.  A mustache just adds to the image.

No not really. Shepard doesn't schmooze everything with lady parts that comes along. At least; no respectable Shepard does.

Ah, but that he has the capacity to is where the Kirk Genes come in to play.

Oh, that idea came to my head after I was pretty sure Liara would only be getting a cameo.  I had a bunch of other ideas too, none of them were even close to what we got in ME2
