Okay, if you looked at some other support threads today, you might have noticed this thought experiment I have going about squadmates working together. Not working with Shepard, but having to work in a three-man squad in a way that brings out the best in each other's abilities. Not from what we see in gameplay, but taking personality, the abilities you feel they should have when not hindered by gameplay mechanics, their preferred strategies and so forth.

So considering the squadmates from both games, who do you think would work best with Liara? You send the squad out onto the battlefield where they have to rely on each other without Shepard's guidance and get the job done. Liara could work with a great many of the squadmates that Shepard has recruited, but there has to be a couple that really gel with her, where they work as one fluid machine.

I had actually paired Liara with Kaidan and Samara in a thread. It's an all biotic squad for the most part, some of Kaidan's tech abilities for backup. But it's a very powerful and methodical biotic squad, able to coordinate their attacks in an unstoppable biotic force. But that's my opinion, what are some of your own?

I think Kaidan would be a good pair with Liara.  In that vein, Miranda would also go well with Liara, though Kaidan would be better as he and Liara are more familiar and comfortable with each other in combat.

I have always found Tali and Garrus to compliment Liara's biotic abilities in ME1.  Garrus might be better as he adds some big guns to the duo, and his tactical mind would be better suited for coordinating attack combos with Liara.  Similiarly, Legion could provide the tech/combat dynamic for the duo.

From a personal and tactical perspective, I'd definitely include Ashley in a squad featuring Liara. Not only do I feel that the two grow to become great and close friends during the events of ME1, but I also think that Ashley's raw firepower and pure soldier abilities would compliment Liara quite well. Together, they would be extremely power and Liara would use her biotics to incapacitate the enemy, whilst Ashley could finish them off using the variety of firearms at her disposal.

I think they would work well together too...again, they are more familiar with each other and that combo would work better than Liara + most of the ME2 squad mates.

Liara could fling the enemies around whilst Ashley shoots them down.

For me the perfect squad to be with Liara is Tali and Ashley it would be the perfect combination of tech, combat and biotic abilities. And they know each other so they would work very well as a team.
