I'm replaying ME as well, though I'm coming at it from the opposite direction. I've never seen the dialogue you get if you pick Liara up last. So no romance for me. At least I won't be cheating on her. I refuse to run a Shep who's unfaithful to her. Anyone else is fair game.

The dialog is quite hilarioius...it's worth it to do it once.  I've only seen it on youtube, though.

Kasumi has a collection of various sentimental objects to her that she'll discuss. I'd like it if Liara had something similar and if you clicked on them, she'd tell a story about an archeological dig or the meaning behind the relic.

I really wish the developers would return to Liara's archeological roots rather than keep on track with her turn as an information broker. Maybe because I always liked archeology and liked that Liara happened to be one.

This morning I was thinking about what squadmates can do if Shepard stood around idle long enough, similar to how Joker starts making random comments if you hover behind him in ME2. So can you imagine Liara making some random comments, perhaps mentioning how people think her archeological work is boring but it's nothing compared to waiting on ships to reach their destinations? Or see her get up and move about the room? The occasional biotic flareup with Liara commenting she's working on perfecting her barrier?

Something like that existed in BG 2, though he companions would only complain about moving on already when the party was idle. In Fallout 3, the companions can even walk around on their own, sit down, drink or eat something etc. In a game that puts so much focus on the companions, something similar should be almost a matter of course, I think.

I do too (I always thought archaeology was a very interesting line of work).

Still, I don't expect this to happen within the course of the ME3 game.  It seems Liara's use as an archaeologist for the plot has run its course after ME1 and now her Info Brokering is what is needed.  I've never agreed with this idea of her being 'useless' now as an archaeologist (I had expected that she would go back to Ilos after Shepard's death and eventually discover something there that would aid Shepard against the Reapers) but I've come to terms with it.

It is possible she will return to these roots after the series ends, though.

This is apparently a common misconception. Yes, you can get that dialogue and the romance.

Well, I'll have to muster some willpower. I haven't seen Tali or Jack's romances yet, and I refuse to cheat on Liara.

I have this feeling that each game was going to keep some Prothean connection, which would have kept Liara's archeological roots valid. I also would like to think her knowledge does go beyond the Protheans. Instead of Shepard going to her simply to find the location of Samara and Thane, imagine him going to her to actually simply to get more details about the Collectors. And imagine Shepard bringing her the knowledge that the Collectors are Protheans. I can just imagine her comment then.

"Shepard, do you know how frustrating it is to spend fifty years researching something only to have you trump everything in the space of two years?"

But I do agree...I had thought her Prothean expertise would come in handy in ME2....it could have, in theory, given that the Collectors are freaking Protheans, but they choose to take a different path with Liara for some reason.  I'm curious to see why, but we have a long wait until ME3, sadly.

The Wiki says this:

"If you complete the assignments on Feros and Noveria  prior to rescuing Dr T'Soni, you will still receive the hallucination dialogue, however she will not react fearfully to the Krogan Battlemaster."

But I seem to remember that I picked her up after Feros, Noveria and Virmire once, got the second part of the scene too, and still completed the romance in the end. Come to think of it though, the locker scene could probably not occur. Is it still possible to trigger the romance? Or maybe it does occur if you talk to her before the forced return to the Citadel? I can't remember, or maybe I'm just wrong?

As far as I know, if you recruit Liara after you've done Feros and Noveria (and Virmire), you can still do the full romance - just do a side mission or something in between each conversation, and it should work the same.

I know I've done the romance on a playthrough where I got her after Virmire.

Though come to think of it.....I think on that one I may have left one of the other planets out. As has been pointed out, the Locker Scene would provide a problem.

Completing all the main-plot missions will end with you being recalled to the Citidal. Resulting in the Normandy lockdown. And once you take the Normandy back the only dialog Liara will say is Sooner or later all this will be over. I promise" AFAIK.

That's strange. Until now, I was very sure it was possible. Maybe you can talk to her repeatedly before you click on the planet map and are returned to the Citadel? Maybe finding out would be reason enough to play through the game once more, but actually I prefer to pick her up immediately. And if it's not possible after all, it's a wasted playthrough.

I just wasn't aware that the hallucination triggered only after doing 2 main quests...I thought you needed to do all three of the other main quests (Feros/Noveria/Virmire) for this to occur.

I just bougth Leliana DLC, i mean it's Leliana. w00t!
I love the both characters so it's fine with me. Although i'd still like my ME2 Liara expansion pack. xD

About the Liara DLC it could be just Liara going after the SB instead of Liara and Shepard we would play as Liara and perhaps we could chose the path that Liara would take.
