Yeah, the new armor and weapon... Did i mention i think they look totally stupid?

No :D

I've heard that alot...I think the armor is OK...I like the bonuses and the fact that it's piece-wise and you can customize it.

About the Liara DLC it could be just Liara going after the SB instead of Liara and Shepard we would play as Liara and perhaps we could chose the path that Liara would take.

I have a feeling they won't do anything like this for Mass Effect.  First, Liara's a full biotic and some despise this type of combat, preferring soldier type classes.  Second, Mass Effect is 'Shepard's Story' (we hear this many times) so I don't know how popular of a DLC it would be if you play as someone that is not Shepard.

I'd like this, though.

Me too. I only like Shep occasionally, so anything that sidelined him in favor of NPCs I find more interesting would be welcome. Liara included.

hehe. :P
That's the only good thing imo here: The Customizability. But still not worth my money. (Did I hear the cashcow?^^)

Liara only content is highly unlikely, imo.As j said, Mass Effect is just Shepards Story. I can't imagine something like the Leliana DLc here.
I must admit the you choose the path for Liara is a kinda interesting idea but that just doesn't fit to the game, imo.

Yeah, Shep did get sidelined in Redemption (though, that's just a comic book and not the game).

I still think the biggest issue is with combat...Liara's a pure biotic, and I think most ME players prefer either the Soldier or the Infiltrator classes.  Some hate having to rely on their powers and prefer just to shoot stuff.

I only like soldier because of the AR and andrielin(sp) rush, and that's in ME2. In ME Engie and Sentinal(sp) where the best.

There could also be a Virmire survivor DLC and we will play as Ashley or Kaiden and this DLC with the Liara DLC would be a way to compensate the ME1 players for the ME1 LI story in ME2 and it would also be a good way to intorduce this characters for the new players and prepare their story for ME3. But I agree that the gameplay and the fact that this is Shepard strory might be a big problem.

Yeah, I like the Soldier and Infiltrator class too (I like all classes, actually, though biotics are my faves usually).

I know some hate relying on powers, though. Liara would be a full power user, with just a pistol and SMG for a weapon. Unless they give her a assault rifle....she's going all Commando!!!

I think Liara might be like Miri, but have all biotic powers like Samara. Unless they give squadmates three weapons this time.

Yeah, if they were seriously going to do this, they could give the player the option to pick a 'combat specialization' for Liara prior to beginning the DLC.

You could pick 'combat' which would give her more weapons and more ammo powers, but fewer biotic powers. 'Biotic' to just go full adept, or 'Tech' to have her as a Sentinel type, with both biotic and tech powers.

So, you would have three classes to pick from, all would have at least a few biotic powers, since that is Liara's bread and butter.

I don't know about tech. That would be like giving Ash biotic powers LOL.

As an alternative to DLC in which you play as Liara whilst hunting the Shadow Broker, how about if the Liara DLC takes a cue from Kasumi, and has you play as Shepard with Liara as your sole squadmate whilst you assault the Shadow Broker's base? Liara would only be a temporary squaddie for this mission, and she'd be way OP to compensate for the loss of a second squadmate. She'd also have her biotics plus Overload, like she did in ME1. It could work.

Liara has some tech powers in ME1.

Nah, Liara had the Overload ability in ME1...she's had some training....she could fix the Mako!

I'd like it if all the squadmates that won't be recruitable or have major story roles in ME3 got DLC to give them a sendoff. Which means no Liara DLC unless I'm wildly off. But if Miranda and Legion aren't returning, I'd like a last hurrah.

If Legion and Miri don't return I will be mad and if no one comes back, no ME3 for me.

I like how Liara possessed the "Electronic" talent in ME1. To me, that was due to her being a scientist and being capable with all of that complex lab equipment that she uses whilst out on the field. I liked it!

Nah, she had the Electronics ability due to that fact that she's a scientist. Working with all of that complex lab equipment has caused her to be quite adept and capable with electronic equipment.

I prefer Liara alone because this way we could now understand what Liara has felt in the last two years throught her own eyes and have a good explanation for her hunt and this way it would be Liara chosing her own way without Shepard influence and this way all the romance content would be kept for ME3 because I feel like if there is a DLC with Shepard and Liara and this mention the romance then in ME3 the romance content will be very reduced and I still have some hope that the ME1 romance will have some plot importace in ME3. But Liara and Shepard it the most likely to happen.

I think the electronics ability is quite fitting. Same thought as LET wrote.
But more  "tech-fighting-knowledge" wouldn't be fitting 'cause she is just not a trained tech.

Depends on what they do with them. If Miranda becomes "the Illusive Woman" (prferably with an awesome reveal where she emerges from the shadows) then I'll be too busy squeeing to care. Likewise, if Liara becomes your Mission Control/quest giver like TIM was, I'd be satisfied. As long as I got an appropriate conclusion to my romances.

In that rumored 'original beginning to Mass Effect 2', we were supposed to play as Liara and have just Legion as the other squad mate (or play as Legion with Liara as teh squad mate, I can't remember which one). They have thought of something like this before and were even close to implementing it in ME2.

Would it not be preferable to have Liara's DLC mission be akin to an expanded and deeper version of Jack's loyalty mission? Interspersed amongst the combat, Liara will tell Shepard of her experiences and suffering, and gradually open up over the course of the DLC. Her emotional barriers and walls begin to drop as we are finally given the ability to comfort and console her. I'd like something like that.

I'm happy about some new DLC we've gotten today (Leliana!)...the only bad thing..it's not Liara's.

This might be a bit off-topic, but then perhaps not. I lost any interest in the Leliana DLC when I read you'd play as her and in her past, and my PC (obviously) wouldn't play a role in it. Certainly not buying it, even though Leliana is my favourite character in DA. I don't even know what I'm supposed to do with these shorts bits after I already played through the games several times. Even less of course with those additional armors and weapons they keep releasing for ME 2.

Now, more on-topic, do think they might do the Leliana DLC in a similar way, letting you play as her (probably without ever meeting Shepard)? If the rumor is correct, you were once supposed to play as someone else (Liara? Legion?) in the beginning of ME 2, to retrieve Shepard's body. And there is the precedent already with the Joker sequence. I for hope they won't do this with Liara, but then it would at least save me money, so whatever. <_<

Edit: I see this was already being discussed, so there's my opinion on the matter anyway.
