Having listened to that audio file, yes, I'm inclined to agree with you. But getting our hopes up over something that's still very much a rumour isn't wise.

Audio files??? Link please.

as for cut Legion /Liara part, this could be implemented into DLC as combined Liara/Shepard/Legion mission witch some big SB thread finale and love thread culmination to be carried over into ME3 swiftly

Wowwwwwwwwwwww, if real. I think this does , in fact, mean you have to bring her back. She went down the path for you, and you will have to make her see the folly/error of her new position.

well I've extracted 43/11xx afc files and I can't find the legion dialogue, the 43 files covers the prologue, it doesn't look like any of the N7 missions hold the ship's name but that might be my next place to look. None of the Normandy's Legion files holds anything. All of Liara's files seems to have been tagged with the name liara or some other name and has been found by Jib ( and made into said MP3 )

on a totally unrelated note I did find more Kasumi sound files

Yeah, those files are the ones I've found and are legit. I'm going to look for these mysterious Legion files as well.

Cheers, J.

I actually think it would've been pretty cool to start the game as Legion, and partnering up with Liara.

But I'm also glad that they've expanded Liara's role in finding Shepard's body so it feels like a "greater" part of the trilogy, so to speak.

If it's a one time thing or very occasional, I don't think it's that big a deal.  They had some character flips in KOTOR and it was still Revan's story.

And it sounds more interesting than what they did.  I mean, really, ME2's overall story arc is so underwhelming compared to ME1s.

It also feels like parts of the game that should have been there, weren't, like the game isn't quite complete.  I think it needed a few more months.

Yeah, it definitely need some more time. After reading up on Jib's audio files and the like, it seemed like they cut out some stuff but didn't replace it. It was just left empty. I also think they didn't like the approach they took and now they're going to try to rework it. I'm still optimistic, with the comic, DLC, and ME3, there's still plenty to turn it all around.

I don't know if I'm more pessimistic than usual but I wonder if we expect to much? Don't think BW will give us heaven, I'm afraid it can be a speed job that just will make us more disappointed in the end, but if they already started and will work on it until the comic is done we may get something decent... I hope. A bad DLC can just as well be the last nail in the coffin as non at all for me at least.

On a happy note I just killed Sovereign Yay!!

It seems to me that they spent so much time perfecting the combat and technical aspects of the game (which admittingly they did) they cut a lot of story and character stuff.

I do hope if there is Liara DLC it simply isn't the scenario as described above just put back into the game. That would be so disappointing.

I'm not getting my hopes up either. No piece of DLC from BioWare or any other company has ever blown me away. 99% of it is overpriced twaddle. Maybe BioWare can buck the trend.

Congratulations on a Righteous Soveriegn Kill.  Hooray for ME1!  Though, from stuff here, and stuff posted on other threads, I'm getting the impression that the best way to be disappointed with ME2 is to play ME1 and actually care about your LI and crew.  Image IPB

Eh ... for DLC, all I'd be expecting would be the actual Act 2 of a 3-Act romance.  I would have no problem with it having a relationship cliffhanger, as long as it ... actually acknowledged the relationship.  So that Act 3 of the romance could be in ME3.  That would be completely acceptable, and if there's a Liara-centric DLC in the works, I also think it's really not too much to ask.

I haven't found any audio files yet that pertain to this Liara/Legion scene. This doesn't mean that they were never there....they could have removed them from the final version.

That is precisely how I felt about it.  I've heard (I think it was on these boards somewhere, actually) that the level cap in ME2 is 30 because the level cap in ME3 will be 60 and they're not going to futz around with the gaming mechanics this time.  Which would be awesome - I really like the mechanics, and that would give them time to actually ... have the story branch and go different places due to decisions in ME1/ME2.  Which means they could, in theory, if they found it in their hearts, Actually Continue Romances.  I'd really like that.

Might mean a faster turnaround this time, as well.  Like TOB/BGII.  And TOB did handle the romance continuation well.

Pity Gaider's probably on DA2, but maybe they could get him to explain to them how to continue a romance.

I just hope they both fix the romances and make the choices in ME1/2 about other issues actually matter.  I want a really different ending/feeling depending on my choices.

Indeed. Aside from hoping for meaningful Liara related dialogue in 3(and squadmate status, though I doubt this one)
I -require- an "Ah yes, Reapers." fingerquotes option in a conversation with that turian councilmember.

Considering DA:O:A I not sure Mr. Gaider is all that great with continuing romances either.

Funny you mentioned this.  I was thinking about BG2 the other day and how the expansion seamlessly continued from the original game (especially with the romances).   If they don't touch the game engine much, ME3 could be thought of as a 'huge expansion pack' where they could focus on the story and continuing with developing the surviving crew members from ME1 and ME2 instead of adding a whole new squad.

This. Pseudo-seamless moving on to 3 would be great for what I eventually intend to do, replay the entire series from 1 through 3 with a new shep.

I have heard rumours that ME3 at the earliest could be Q1 2011. I doubt it somehow, but there's no smoke without fire....

Well, he didn't work on DA:O:A.  Same thing with some of the odd things in RTO.  It seems like Bioware is getting so large that the teams don't communicate properly.

I don't mind waiting as long as it takes for them to get it right.  Q4 2011 wouldn't bother if they don't cut corners around everything with the story this time.  Still, that assumes we get an epic Liara expansion this year that makes me even want to get ME3.
