Yes, but that's because FemShep is more popular in fic and art. Most of it's written by women, and she's a ready-made self insert.

It's probably about 50/50 for those that just play it, though.
I dont think it did appear to be the case. A huge amount of the Liara/femshep art and fanfic Ive been exposed to has been more recently.
When I was on the boards in the months after ME1s release, both in player terms and creative terms it seemed fairly balanced.
Really, nobody in regards to this discussion has put forward anything more than personal opinion and experience.

You cant have it both ways, and demonise one supposed attitude, yet turn your nose up when another equally prominent one rears its head.

Yeah, that's all I'm saying...amongst the player base, it's probably 50/50.

Oh and please lets not forget the propensity to point out "OMG that moron maleshep player only did it to 'kirk' Liara".

Sounds like the morons who used Liara as a f*ck buddy because they could not romance Tali <_<

I call that romance pure fan service.

The maleshep factor would be naturelly be lower due to the "Tali" factor. But the amount of femshep who stayed loyal would also be lower if there were other F/F options.

It applies to any player with the juvenile "lulz, mah Shepard bones loadsa hawt chicks, and aliens too" attitude.
Ive seen it crop up as much as that "What happened to the hawt lesbian action in ME2!?" kind of attitudes.

Out if curiosity, what would you say if someone came on here and said, "I love Liara's character, but I don't like her romance?"

I'm cool with that. Because thats how I feel about Tali.
Awesome character. But romance?

Was just going to say this. AFAIK, mostof us in here are too keen on her romance, or the direction it was taken in ME2 . . . so:?

I think its lower because of all three. My criticism against all three ME2 Lis and their execution aside, youve got three prominent squadmates to choose from, or a crappy cameo from Ash/Liara to "stay faithful" to, despite the fact that the game makes no illusions about the fact that your relationship is at the very least on complete hold.
In regards to F/F, okay there is Kelly, but I share similar views on her as some others, and I wouldnt exactly say shes set the fanbase on fire. Then there is getting turned down by Samara, which from a fullfilling gameplay standpoint is no better than the Liara cameo.
The there is Jacob and 2 maliens. All in all, a crap showing for F/F romancers, so why not stick with Liara and hope for better in ME3?

That's something that I'd absolutely love to hear from certain fans. It would help to prove that Liara's character isn't dependant and reliant on romance in any way. I'd respectfully disagree with the opinion that Liara's romance is poor, but I'd also be thrilled that someone appreciates Liara's character itself, and not just the romance aspect of it.

That's fine with me...her romance does kind of suck in a way, due to it having the least amount of dialog. Her possible late recruitment hurt this.
I actually like to see people who like her for her character and not her romance.

Oh, sorry to all the MaleShep players...I know, FemShep can't be preferred anywhere to MaleShep or the world will end or something.
Liara is the only romance lI I stayed loyal too.

Id say congratulations on the hard job of seperating the two, and making do with such a small amount.
All of Mass Effects romanceable characters rely quite substantially on their romances. You just dont really get to know them as much unless you romance them, which is perfectly realisitic I suppose, but I definitely think it makes it hard for folks to take to characters if they dont romance them.
Its certainly why I didnt care for the ME2 female LIs. I didnt romance them, so I didnt really get much content from them.

There's alot of diffent factors/reasons for why people cheated or stayed loyal.
For those that cheated it's mostly consist of the following.
The ME1 LI no longer loves me.
I truly prefer the ME2 LI.
TALI ZOMFASKMDAOFÆADSFJKMA!!!
Whatever! I'm Captain Kirk!
I just wanted the paramour achievments.

Yeah, Im sorry to femshep players as well. I know its cruel of me to object to blantant bias towards her when a sizeable number prefer the just as legitimate maleshep/Liara romance, but what can you do?
Makes you wonder why people have such a problem with Biwoares bias towards Sheploo. Cant they prefer to use him, or the world will end or something?
