There's alot of diffent factors/reasons for why people cheated or stayed loyal.

For those that cheated it's mostly consist of the following.

The ME1 LI no longer loves me.
I truly prefer the ME2 LI.
TALI ZOMFASKMDAOFÆADSFJKMA!!!
Whatever! I'm Captain Kirk!
I just wanted the paramour achievments.

Or we just moved on.

I never said that it's wrong to prefer Femshep or Maleshep is superior. And what kind of Shepard you prefer is completly irrelevant to what I was talking about.

When I was on the boards in the months after ME1s release, both in player terms and creative terms it seemed fairly balanced.

Really, nobody in regards to this discussion has put forward anything more than personal opinion and experience.

Why do people complain that there isn't enough MaleShep art and fanfics then if it's so equal?

For the reasons Ive spent about the last half hour outlining.

I didnt ONCE hear any such complaint when ME1 was released, and there was an abundance of maleshep players who romanced Liara. Now that many maleshep players have with good reason selected a new romance, rather than make do with Liaras absolute garbage ME2 role, Im not surprised there is a shortage of maleshep/Liara fanart and fanfiction.

Lot of Miranda, Tali and Jack stuff though....

And no, femshep doesnt get screwed over most of the time. There are a few key points with are patently unfair, but other than that its perfectly equal.

Samara rejected me (it's rare, but there).

I suppose its tied to "prefer the ME1 Li" but Id have suggested a roleplaying option as well.

Sticking with Liara in the vain hope it gets a return to prominence in ME3 is part of my roleplaying Shepard (and one of the few things I have left in ME).

There isn't that much Miranda fic. 71 pieces on fanfiction.net I'm not sure how that stacks up to MaleShep/Liara because FFN lumps all Sheps together, but most fic is FemShep/Kaidan or FemShep/Garrus.

3 diffrent romance options and unique dialog options coupled with a good voice actor is hardly what I call an afterthought. Just because she isn't in marketing.

Speaking of which. I understand Bioware using Sheploo as the "face" of ME marketing. But Bioware is shooting themselves in the foot for not spreading the fact that Shepard can be female if the player choses too.

I dont see as much as of the female pairing, at least not until I came to this thread, and was subjected to the majority bias towards femshep here. Like today, I walk in and see LETs comments about Liara seeing how "awesome" femshep is.

I see femshep now more than I did after ME1, but thats with good reason, like me and lizardviking has been pointing out. Im sure if, like I said, ME3 comes good with Liara, things will be very similar to how I experienced them after ME1.

As for people complaining in general, no they dont, since my experiences dont match your, so that suggests some other than "not enough maleshep fanfic/fanart" has always been present.

I thought we settled on just saying he when we prefer MaleShep. (as I do)
And saying she or FemShep when we prefer FemShep.

Since LET does prefer FemShep, he refers to his Shepard as such.

Liara's f/f pairing fans have always liked talking about the pairing.  That's how it's going to be.  We aren't going to stop talking about it because some Maleshep players hate hearing us for whatever reason.  We'd like to celebrate their love for each other without people complaining with, "not this again".  <_<
