I know, whats the big deal? Why is it causing such a fuss that I feel the need to contest that kind of praise with my own? Why is it all of a sudden about femsheps being victimised here? There is certainly enough balance between the two pairings that were here having this debate.

Honestly, I dont see why "the overwhelming majority of Liara fanwork is based around femshep" getting rightfully conested by people who have different views is causing such a fuss.

Two very different subjects probably being put forward by different people.

Really, there isnt much left to discuss anyway. I think me and Viking did a good job covering some of the points, and there are lot of different reasons to choose from, all valid.

Still, just like you, Im operating on what I have experienced, and what that is is until ME2, I was definitely not seeing an "overwhelming" amount of fanart and fanfiction in favour of femshep. Since the ME2 situation is drastically different, Im not surprised things are different right now.

And the discussion is related to Liara, so its not off topic. But hell, if folks want to get back to entirely Liara character discussion or something along those lines, they can fire away.

I take it you've all read the news about DA 2. Do you now believe that BioWare have changed? So far, people were still citing DA as evidence to the contrary of several of my suspicions about the direction of the company, but that game was in development for several years. Awakening was quite different already, and right now it looks as if DA 2 gets the full ME 2 treatment.

The reason why this matters here? Easy, it certainly doesn't seem to increase the chances for a proper (!) Liara DLC.

While I'm suprised about DA2 being announced now. Remember there's still a possibility that DA2 were in progress while DA1 was still being made (I also believe this is the case for ME3). So it might not be as rushed as you might think.

Let´s wait and see. The main character change is already a big dissapointment, and the comments about combat are worrying, but we know very little and BW ad campaigns are usually misleading. If they go this way I hope we the fans will give them hell so they go back for DA3. This was a game for RPG players, not shooter players or Diablo players. There is nothing so broken to need major fixes, but neither was in ME1 and the idea of fix for 2 was "away with it".

Making the combat better is a plus, since I didn't like the combat in Dragon Age. I felt very detached from what was happening. However, I hate that my character isn't being used. If he's not showing up, then what's the point of choosing not to sacrifice yourself in Origins, if he's as good as dead in the next game?
