So hypothetical. Let's say Liara really could join your squad for the DLC. What sort of powers do you think they'd give her to match with the 4 power limit of the game? Think she'd be a pistol/SMG user easy enough, though.

Hmm.

-singularity
-pull
-throw
-Either warp, or barrier.

If we're going for angry Liara I would swap out pull for either Reave or Slam.

Liara would have a tech power, too. Such as overload.

Not a full expansion, I don't think, just DLC.

Well they do call it an expansion. Man I hope they're not just messing around with that word.

Expansion was used for Overlord as well.

She'll need a passive ability, which will likely work on her biotic cooldowns or power strength. I think Singularity should definitely be in her repertoire. Give her Warp with it, she'd be as powerful as Samara with her Reave. Maybe Throw to finish it out.

ETA: I forgot Liara had a tech power in ME1. Maybe Incinerate then.

Liara's bonus power: Shepard throws a coffee cup, and Liara puts every enemy in it.

Liara was some sort of biotic scientist in the first one, if I recall correctly?

So, a passive ability...singularity, cryo blast or incinerate, and a brand new bonus power.

No, she was an archaeologist.

Considering there's already two squad mates in the screenshot involving Liara, chances are she's just an NPC that follows you around instead of an actual companion.

Pretty much.  Hey! At least we get her alongside for the mission.  Probably there will be parts without her, though.

Yeah I imagine Liara just follows Shepard around as a non-combat NPC, with the combat happening when Liara is doing some useful, like working from a terminal.

I for one am glad though. Hopefully Liara rejoining Shepards squad wont be happening until ME3.

Her wiki page classes her as an "Asari Scientist."

Yeah! That way Liara gets her own recruitment mission, rather than just appearing in the Normandy, at the beginning of the game. Although having Liara and Ashley, or Kaidan to start out with, has it's appeal as well. Like old times!

This time, not just used as a sh!tty line Shepard uses to entice old friends to join her/him.

Thats her unique class.

To be fair though, she is a scientist, and says as much herself.

It was her ME1 character skill, like how my Shepard could put points into Engineer. But technically she was an archaeologist. The way you worded your sentence made it sound like you said she studied biotics.

Achaeology uses chemistry in much of their work, so . . . . she is both. But anyway

SEMANTICS!! Leave 'em behind! :P

Yeah, well its probably better, much better, for them to be squadmates Shepard reunites with at some point, rather than starts with. Since Bioware has pretty much confirmed each act is "stand alone", having a character who has a deep and intricate (and most importantly: player influenced) history with Shepard is not a good thing. Well, I think it is, but I guess Bioware doesnt because its not "noob friendly".

The class skill names seem to be reasonably well-suited for descriptive purposes...

Tali's "Quarian Machinist", Mordin's "Salarian Scientist", and so forth.

I meant she was a biotic using scientist.

Yes, I see that now. Yes, she's a scientist, just not one studying biotics like I thought you had said.

Can't wait for DLC, it will be good to have another of the old team back in action.

...just like old times.

Also I think the Shadow Broker commandos look sweet with the glowing red eyes.
