Anyway, looking back through the pages, there is one significant note I would like to make:

I'm banking on the fact that this mission is Post-Suicide, not only because it makes sense (because I've learned never to trust a game developer, even BioWare, just to do what makes sense) but also because they've promised Mass Effect 2.5-style DLC, stories that help bridge the gap. Ergo, the Suicide Mission, and any potential for squadmates to die, must be over to unlock the information (which makes sense, since Shepard is a bit too busy to go chasing shadows (get it?) while he's fighting his own private war against the Collectors.

This all leads me to believe that we will definately receive the romantic content we were so painfully denied (although I doubt we'll enter a circumstance that unlocks the Paramour achievement, if you get my drift), even if it is only romantic dialogue, which is pretty much what I've been dying for all along.

Now, if she does join the Normandy as a non-removable squadmate (i.e. unable to venture out the airlock but still available for a Captain's Cabin snuggle), then all my dreams will have come true. It would make sense, too, if she wishes to continue her shady work, which I doubt, because she would be able to do it on the Normandy now, since her quest for revenge is resolved.

Like you said, a game developer can never be trusted to do things in a way that makes sense, and as Cerberus should basically see Liara as a possible ally after what happened in "Redemption" (also this makes me wonder why TIM says that she might be working for the Shadowbroker in the beginning of ME2?) I for one would not be surprised to see the Shadowbroker DLC simply being that Cerberus/TIM decides that the Shadowbroker is too great a threat to be ignored, and that Liara needs your help to take him/her/it down. But that's just me being negative though:devil:, a post-suicidemission story would be much more interesting and I hope you are right in your predictions.

Will Shisk be present in Liara's DLC?

I can see it now...just as the SB's goons are closing in on a defeated Shepard and Liara, Shisk will suddenly enter and save the pair of them!

That would be so awesome!  OMG, can you imagine our silly little twitter thing featuring Shishk as an assistant?  Haha!  That would totally make my day . . . .

Bioware staff, if your reading this, please make the Shadow Broker DLC post suicide mission, it just makes sense. Oh, and if it's possible, can you at least have some romantic lines for Liara in the Shadow Broker DLC; if not, it's no biggie.

Well, I doubt they will see that but hey, one can only hope.

And to stay on topic, LIARA RULES!!!

I LOVE Liara. I also LOVE Tali. Bioware I hate you for making me have to choose in ME2. Granted, I may have subconsciously chosen Liara because Tali wasn't available in ME1, but I suppose I'll never really know. So, with the announcement of Shadow Broker DLC, which resolves the Shadow Broker story, it is my hope that Liara returns to the squad in ME3. At the same time, I want Tali there as well. I'm gonna have a hell of a hard time with them. This whole situation makes me appreciate my FemShep more, I don't have to make a decision like this. Anyway, I've made some sigbars below, one for Liara, the other for Tali. Neither express interest in them being LIs, so if you're like me, you won't feel bad having both in your sig. :)

I trust BioWare enough to know that this will be Post-Suicide for the reasons I enumerated above. I'm banking on their quality as writers, and their desire to cater to the players' wants, to ensure some romantic dialogue between Shepard and Liara for Liaramancers. I figure, as long as they're bothering to recruit Hills and Hale/Meer, they might as well record something worthwhile. How can they discuss her saving Shepard's body and such without touching on anything romantic for LIs, if even accidentally?

BioWare, I worship you folks. Just do this one thing so that I can look forward to playing (and pre-ordering) Mass Effect 3, and survive the empty years in between.

I certainly hope youre right, but ultimately the thing Im hoping for most of all is to come away from the DLC feeling secure and happy about Liara in ME3. If shes supposed to be "saved" for ME3, I want this DLC to hint that what she is saved for is worth the wait, not actually a supporting role taking over as the shadow broker or something.

Its funny because when the cameo roles were first announced, I couldnt stand the thought of what I knew what going to be just shoddy excuse roles to be kept out of the game. However, since we were told it was done for the reasons of making sure they have a presence in ME3, now thats the most important thing to me.

Looking back on everything, if I had been asked "would you rather Liara miss out on being a squadmate in ME2 so she can be one in ME3" I would have snatched that right up. Yeah, in an ideal world youd want her a squadmate in every game, but if not, being there for the ending chapter is more important.

I just hope the DLC builds up more hope for that, rather than take it away.

Suppose Liara does assume the role of Shadow Broker and rivals TIM as a director/ advisor for Shepard's missons. Perhaps in a more active manner than TIM by actually joining the crew at times. Presumably there will be missons involving galactic unification where a someone with an awareness of 'secrets' would be very valuable in eliciting support in an effort to combat the Reaper threat. Shepard's charisma might not cut it alone but with Liara they just might. Liara becoming the Shadow Broker doesn't necessairly preclude a continuing romance with Shepard but it does elevate Liara's role in the game to a more respectable/powerful level equal to Shepard. Would that be so bad ?

Yeah it would be, because the squadmates are the most well rounded characters by far. You learn things about the supporting cast of characters, but due to the role they play, you dont "get to know them" like you can do with the squadmates, who are with you for the vast majority of the game, instead of popping in at rare intervals.

Essentially my argument has and always will be that when it comes to characters, team/squadmates are top dog. Since Liara was a squadmate for ME1, anything less is always a step down from that first game.

People have raised the idea of non-squadmate romances before, and I dont think its a good idea. Kelly, while I have nothing against the character, wasnt exactly something that appeals to me. It was more of an "easter egg".

Im pretty vocal in my criticism of the ME2 squad most times, and how I thought they felt disconnected and not nearly fleshed out enough. Even with that though, they are still the most fleshed out characters by far. Their (mostly) combat driven loyalty and recruitment missions and the small amount of dialogues still see them through.

If Liara isnt a squadmate in ME3, I know its getting less than what it could be getting, and really Ill lose any desire to finish off the romance, my Shepard, or the game as a whole really.

I can agree with your assessment of squad mates and getting to know them. I can also say that Liara in Shepard's cabin and going on every mission throughout the game is a very appealing thought especially with a romantic element however Liara's character has grown since ME1 and she has pretty much come into her own on Illium as an information broker and even if she's still in love with Shepard I think it would be inconsistant with her character to dispose of the Shadow Broker and simply leave a void. I think the role of SB is somewhat vital to the galaxy almost like glue holding it together. Liara does seem at this point to be the logical person to fill that role. Again I don't think it would necessairly preclude a romance or spending some time on the Normandy. I just think her knowledge may be better served in a larger capacity.

What you pretty much said. Squadmates will always have the most dialog and screentime of all castmembers in the game. Having her not become a squadmember would mean that her terrible cameo in ME2 was for nothing. If they intent for Liara to become the new council/TIM then they should already have started it in ME2.

Also squadmembers can still have plot-important roles (Liara in ME1).

I want Liara as squadmate in ME3 but I want her to be a important squadmate that have importance to the plot only this way we can see Liara as an important and powerful person and have her character and her romance with a lot of quality.

If she gets the proper equipment then she could still maintain alot of the data she have collected. The Normandy SR-2 is equppied with an AI which could easily help her with it.

No, because when someone asked if it was going to be released in August, they said, "Oh I just mean in August we'll be revealing more stuff. :)". So I think it's September.

I wouldn't mind waiting for September because that would suggest that the DLC is larger than usual.

And we all want that now don't we?
